Fettercairn is a Highland malt distillery located in the town of the same name in Aberdeenshire. It was founded in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay on the grounds of his estate and it is today owned by the Philippines-based Alliance Global Group through its Whyte & Mackay division in Scotland. The latter first acquired the distillery in 1973.

Under Whyte & Mackay ownership, Fettercairn malt has been a key component of its various blends, however its single malt brand has been pushed into increasing prominence over the years, particularly since its relaunch in 2018.

There have been a number of iterations of the Fettercairn brand over the years, with the earliest introduced under the Old Fettercain name. This was in the 1970s under Whyte & Mackay ownership and several iterations were available, primarily in 8-year-old and non-age statement expressions. Notably, a different style of the former was produced for the Italian market called Fettercairn 875 (meaning 8-year-old and 75 proof). The Old Fettercairn brand continued to be produced through the 1980s and 1990s, with a 10-year-old latterly added as well.

The first of a succession of rebrands took place in 2002 with the label relaunched as Fettercain 1824, and the product range slimmed down to a single 12-year-old release. The name then reverted to simply Fettercairn for the first time in 2009 as the brand was given a premium makeover with the launch of a 24-, 30- and 40-year-old. The following year, a new permanent release called Fior was introduced, still branded Fettercairn but again with a new aesthetic. It was joined by Fasque in 2011. The two expressions comprised the distillery's core range until its most recent rebrand and relaunch in 2018.

The current Fettercain core range includes a 12-, 18-, 22- and 28-year-old. There are supported by a wide range of limited editions that include its Warehouse Collection and an annual batch release of a 16-year-old.
