Hirsch
Hirsch Selected Whiskey is a brand of straight bourbon produced by Hotaling & Co, a distiller and distributor based in San Francisco, California. The current portfolio includes a single barrel release and a small batch release called The Horizon, bottled from casks sourced at Ross & Squibb in Indiana.
The brand is one of the most important in the history of American whiskey, devised back in 1989 as the A.H. Hirsch Reserve. At that time the whiskey was from a legendary batch of Pennsylvania bourbon distilled at the original Michter's distillery and bottled by Julian Van Winkle III. Considered by many to be some of the finest American whiskey committed to bottle, it even has a book written about it called The Best Bourbon You'll Never Try.
