Hotaling & Co LLC

Hotaling & Co was established in 2018 to acquire the assets of the Anchor Distilling Company after it lost a trademark dispute with Sapporo Holdings in Japan, to whom it had sold its brewing arm - Anchor Brewing Company - the previous year. The new name was inspired by A.P. Hotaling, a historic liquor wholesaler from the San Francisco area.

As of 2020, Berry Brothers & Rudd in England have owned a controlling stake in the company. Its whiskey holdings include the pot-distilled rye brand called Old Potrero and the Hirsch Selection label.
