Haig's Dimple 1960s

An old bottle of Dimple. Dimple was produced by Haig and interestingly in 1958 the Dimple bottle was the first container to be trademarked by the US Patent office, this was because of its unique design. 

The Haig family had a long history of distilling going back as far as the 15th Century. Since 1824 when Cameronbridge distillery was opened by John Haig, Haig has been a big brand in the whisky world. As part of a distilling dynasty John Haig became important in the regulation of Whisky production and was a spokesman for the industry. Although the brand began to shrink in the 1970s, in the last year it has seen a healthy revival with the help of Mr Posh Spice David Beckham. 

Ardbeg Supernova 2014 Miniature 5cl

A bottle of Gold Label from Haig released during the 1960s.

Hven Swedish Single Malt Batch No.5 Alioth​

Sweden's first island based whisky distillery has produced this batch finished in 500 litre casks which previously held a dry Oloroso Sherry.

Named after Alioth, which is one of the stars in the Ursa Major constellation.

A portuguese import of Louis d'Ors Fine Cognac. 

Produced by Augier Freres and Co, reputed to be the very first Cognac house.  The vineyards of the Grande-Champagne subregion are recognised as being the best in Cognac, for producing the highest quality spirit.

Anchor Steam Ancora Curaçao Liqueur Half Bottle 1960s​

Distilled and produced in Lisbon, Portugal; however clearly carries the name of San Francisco's Anchor Steam Distillery.

\"Style Hollandais\" or Dutch-style.

There are no indications of volume or strength but the bottle is approximately 50cl 

Highland Queen \"Grand 15\" 15 Year Old 1960/70s

Originally produced by MacDonald and Muir, owners of Glenmorangie Distillery at the time. Highland Queen 'Grand 15' is an iconic blended whisky that is still currently produced, albeit by different owners.

A very interesting blend indeed. Named for Mary Queen of Scots. Reverse label still states MacDonald & Muir as whisky purveyors to the King of Denmark, who died in 1972.​

Ambassador 8 Year Old Deluxe Scotch 1960s

'Scotch at it's lightest' an unusual blend of Ambassador not usually available in the UK.

Limited to only 9,000 bottles this was released in 2013 from a combination of bourbon and sherry casks.

Ardmore Traditional Peated 1 Litre

A mildly peated Non-chill-filtered Highland whisky. The whisky is double cask matured, initially in ex-bourbon barrels and then in Quarter Casks, which being very small allows greater contact with the wood thus enhancing maturation.
