James MacArthur & Co
Founded
1982
Company type
Independent Bottler
James MacArthur & Co was a Scottish independent bottling company established in 1982 with the goal of showcasing lesser-seen or silent distilleries. The company released some highly sought-after bottlings, including a legendary Port Ellen for the German import, Scoma. It was eventually dissolved in 2022.
The company was widely known for its simplistic label designs and limited branding. It released single malt and grain Scotch whiskies, and should not be confused with the J. MacArthur Jnr & Co subsidiary of Inver House Distillers.
