Cabin Still
Cabin Still is a bourbon brand of huge historical significance, originally devised in 1903 by W.L. Weller & Sons. It was revived after the repeal of Prohibition and became one of the flagship brands of the Stitzel-Weller distillery when it opened in 1935. Such was its market appeal, it was the key factor for the takeover of the distillery by Somerset Importers in 1972 with the company specifically looking to leverage Cabin Still as a vehicle to sell its own warehoused stocks of whiskey.
Stitzel-Weller was closed in 1992 and Diageo later sold Cabin Still to Heaven Hill in 1993. It was then traded to the David Sherman Corporation (now Luxco) who produced it as one of its budget brands however it has since been discontinued.
