Heaven Hill Bernheim
Heaven Hill Bernheim distillery is the production home of the Kentucky-based company, Heaven Hill Distilleries, Inc. It was built by United Distillers in 1992 on the site of the original Bernheim distillery and was intended to consolidate distilling for the many American whiskey assets it had acquired from Distillers Company and Schenley Industries in 1987.
When the Old Heaven Hill Springs distillery in Bardstown burned down in 1994, Heaven Hill Distilleries was in need of a new home and luckily for it, Diageo was less enthusiastic about American whiskey than its predecessor and agreed to sell it New Bernheim in 1999. The deal also included Old Fitzgerald which is produces there alongside other bourbon brands such as Elijah Craig and Evan Williams, and the Pikesville and Rittenhouse rye whiskies.
