Old Charter
Old Charter is a historic Kentucky bourbon brand, currently owned by Sazerac and produced by the company at its Buffalo Trace distillery. It was devised by the Chapeze brothers in the late 19th century but came to prominence under the ownership of Schenley Industries after Prohibition was repealed. They produced it at Bernheim along with the I.W. Harper label.
The current Old Charter range is headlined by its proprietary 8-year-old straight bourbon. In 2018, Sazerac also introduced the Old Charter Oak range, a collection of whiskies aged in French, Mongolian, Chinkapin and Canadian oak casks.
