The David Sherman Corporation was established in 1958 by David Sherman Sr. and Paul A. Lux. David Sherman. The company was a distributor that owned a number of notable American whiskey brands. Most notably it profited from the initial United Distillers investment and subsequent Diageo divestment in bourbon, acquiring the Ezra Brooks, Rebel Yell and David Nicholson brands, among others.
In 2006 the company was reorganised as Luxco, which is today the brands division of MGP Ingredients.
