Beneagles
Beneagles is a brand of blended Scotch whiskies, currently owned by the independent bottling company, Macgregor Thomson Whiskies, who re-registered in 2022. It was created a hundred years earlier by the company founders' ancestor, Peter Thomson, whose company sold it until 1983. After that it passed through the hands of various owners to the Whyte & Mackay group.
A variety of Beneagles expressions have been produced over the years, including Golden Beneagles and Beneagles De Luxe. The label is famed for its traditional use of Beswick and Wade ceramics however, usually shaped like various birds of prey or other Scottish motifs such as haggis and the Loch Ness monster. These were so popular that when When Whyte & Mackay discontinued the brand, they retained the bird ceramics for their own flagship blend.
