Akashi 2015 Cabernet Franc Cask 4 Year Old - Ghost Series #14
This is a 2015 vintage single cask, matured in ex-Cabernet Franc cask #61791. One of 394 bottles released in 2020, this is the fourteenth in the Yoshitorshi Ghost Series selection of rare Japanese whiskies from Stefan Van Eycken, a whisky enthusiast and author of Whisky Rising: The Definitive Guide to the Finest Whiskies and Distillers of Japan.
Each bottle in the collection features a Yukiyo-e artwork from Yoshitoshi's New Forms of 36 Ghosts.
Eigashima
A malt whisky distillery located in the Hyogo prefecture of Japan. Opened in 1984, it is owned by Eigashima Shuzo, a historic sake producer that first obtained a whisky license in 1919. Originally known as White Oak, the distillery was renamed in 2019 and markets its single malt as Akashi.
Akashi
A Japanese whisky brand introduced in 2007 by Eigashima Shuzo Co. It was originally devised as a means of differentiating its single malt produced at Eigashima (formerly White Oak) distillery from its blends, however now encompasses both categories.
