Speyside
Just as it took a long time for the Speyside distillery to be built, it also took a while for its single malt to appear branded using the distillery name. The earliest bottlings were marketed as Drumguish, launched in 1993, which was shortly followed by the Glentromie brand.
It was not until 1999 and under new ownership that the Speyside single malt brand was introduced in the shape of an 8-year-old, followed by a 10-year-old in 2001. The label was produced for the next decade before the distillery was acquired by Harvey's of Edinburgh who replaced it with the Spey brand that they had been selling in Taiwan for several years, botting it using cask bought from the distillery.
