Scowis AG

Scowis AG was a Swiss investment group that acquired the Speyside Distillery Company in 1986. Originally known as Scowiss AG, the company completed the long-delayed building of the Speyside distillery the following year and commencement of production eventually took place in 1990.

Through its subsidiary, Scowis marketed Speyside single malts under both the Drumguish and The Speyside brands. In 1999 it sold the business to a private investment group headed up by Ricky Christie, son of the original company founder, George.
