Seller Fees and Payment Terms
Whisky Auctioneer is dedicated to ensuring our customers have trust and confidence in our services. We are transparent about all fees and charges at every step of the selling process, and you can find all seller fees and payment terms detailed below.
Please note, all fees are quoted ex VAT.
Registration fee
£5
Our one-off registration fee provides lifetime access to buy and sell in all of our actions. It is required to help us authenticate our customers and mitigate against illegitimate bidding.
Selling Commission
5% of final hammer price
Selling commission is added to your invoice and deducted from your payment total after your lots have sold.
Listing Fee
£6 per bottle
Reserve Fee
£10 per lot
Where it’s important for you to protect the value of your bottles, you can add a reserve price, per lot, to ensure a minimum value is achieved if your lot sells.
There is a minimum reserve price of £200 and reserve prices should not exceed 80% of the previous most recent hammer price within 12 months. New Release reserve prices should not exceed RRP within 12 months.
*All reserve prices are at the discretion of Whisky Auctioneer. If you have any questions about selling with us, please complete our Seller Form and a member of our Client Service team will respond to you within 1 working day.
Potential Supplementary Charges
If required, we can provide you with packing materials (£5 per bottle plus shipping costs) to increase the safety and security of your bottle(s) in transit.
We aim to organise free bottle collections, either by our dedicated service or by courier, where possible. If we are unable to provide this, we’ll provide you with a quote for collection fees.
International Transfer Fees
Where we are sending your seller payment internationally, it may be subjected to international transfer fees which must be accepted by the seller.
Payment Terms
Where your item sells, we will make payment to you within 21 business days of the auction closing.
Frequently Asked Questions
If your item fails to meet a reserve price, we still require the listing fee and reserve fee be paid.
We will then offer you a chance to re-list the item (subject to fees) or discuss returning the bottle to you (subject to delivery charge).
