Cooley
Cooley is a large Irish whiskey distillery that broke the hegemony of the Irish Distillers group when it was independently established in County Louth in 1987 by John Teeling. It was sold to Beam, Inc in 2011, and as of 2014 has ultimately been owned by Suntory in Japan.
Producing both single grain and double-distilled single malt whiskies, Cooley operates a significant contract-distilling operation for third-party bottlers, as well as producing a number of its own brands. Among the latter include the Tyrconnel and Connemara single malts, and the Kilbeggan single grain brand (formerly Greenore).
