Ardbeg 1972 Single Cask 31 Year Old #2780 Ping No.1

An incredibly rare single cask Ardbeg, distilled on 27th October 1972 and bottled at over 31 years old on 14th October 2004, from single cask #2780, a bourbon hogshead.

Known as Ping No.1, this release was part of a 4 bottle 'Ping Project' series bottled for established Danish Wine, Beer & Spirits Store, Juul's Vin & Spiritus. This bottle celebrates the 30th anniversary of employee Michael Madsen, whose nickname was 'Ping'.

Each bottling was released in a season of 2005. No.1 was Spring.

A 22 Year old single sherry cask matured Ardbeg distilled in November 1976 then bottled in June 1999.

Ardbeg 1974 Provenance 23 Year Old (1st Release)

The first release of  the legendary  Ardbeg Provenance bottlings, distilled in 1974 and matured for 23 years until being released in late 1997.

Matured in bourbon casks these were released to the EU and Asia.

These whiskies are highly acclaimed and desirable, includes certificate and tartan insert.

Ardbeg 1975 Single Cask #4701 Societ

Vintage Ardbeg is a rare commodity these days and we are lucky to offer this 1975 vintage single cask.

Distilled on Boxing Day, 26th December 1975 and bottled on the 26th April 2002 from a single sherry cask #4701.

This cask was split into two seperate bottlings, this one was for Societ and the other was for Clan Des Grand Malt.

This is bottle number 95 of 252.

This rare, desirable Ardbeg was distilled on the 24th March 1972 and was matured in a bourbon hogshead cask, prior to being bottled on 13th of October 2004.

This 32 year old whisky came from cask #868 yielding 236 bottles.

Distilled on Boxing Day, 26th December 1975 and bottled on the 26th April 2002 from a single sherry cask #4701.

This cask was put into two seperate bottlings. This was was bottled for Clan des grand malt the other part was bottled for Societ

\"It’s been a good year for sourcing ridiculously rare parcels of extraordinary whisky.

Two different companies approached us recently with similar stories: they each had several casks of Blended Scotch that had been blended at quite young ages, then not required and put back into cask and left to age. One parcel was 33 years-old and the other was…well, I’m afraid I can’t tell you. (By telling you the age of the other parcel, some might argue we are in violation of the UK’s Scotch Whisky Regulations - citation 2009 No. 2890. But that’s another story.)

We know little of the component whiskies, only that, being Blended Scotch Whisky, they were blends of both single malt and single grain whiskies.

We could tell by tasting that some were aged in former American whisky casks and some in sherry casks. But the provenance wasn’t really important, because each parcel had matured into something extraordinary in flavour, and to us, as blenders, they each represented distinct and complementary flavour profiles.

And this is where things got interesting for us. While each parcel was compelling in its own right, we had the feeling that by combining them in the right proportions, we could make something even more interesting. So we experimented for many weeks, blending the two together at different proportions before landing on the recipe in this bottle.

The result is a whisky with the “antique” character lovers of old whiskies seek out.\"

Hirsch Reserve 1974 16 Year Old Bourbon / 2003 Release

A legendary bottle of Bourbon that has had a whole book written about itself: \"The Best Bourbon You'll Never Taste\" by Charles K Cowdery

Distilled in Spring 1974, this bourbon is bottled from a single 400 barrel batch commissioned by Adolph Hirsch and distilled under contract at Bomberger's distillery, just outside Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania (The home of Michter's whisky).

This is the 2003 bottling, produced by Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, Kentucky, referred to in inner circles as 'gold foil'. Responsibility for the earlier bottle was undertake by Julian Van Winkle III, however Sazerac acquiring the Pappy Van Winkle brand in 2003 meant that this had to change.

In his book Cowdery refers to the bourbon as one of the \"best whiskeys I've ever tasted.\"

Mash bill contains 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley.

Ardbeg 21 Year Old (Committee Bottling)

12 casks were hand chosen to be released exclusively for the Ardbeg committee in 2001.

Matured in bourbon casks, only 2,500 bottles were produced and hand signed by Stuart Thomson.

Clynelish 1988 Duncan Taylor 26 Year Old / Koi Series

A single cask Clynelish distilled in October 1988 and bottled in July 2015 by Duncan Taylor for William & Co. Spirits (China) Limited.

This series consisted of three separate releases: Clynelish, Cragganmore, and Laphroaig.

Each release represents a Chinese Idiom. This bottling represents 'Have passed a competitive examination in life'.

One of only 78 bottles.

Exclusively available in mainland China.

Convalmore 1977 36 Year Old

Diageo released this last year, the second bottling of Convalmore within their Special release series.

Distilled in 1977 and bottled at cask strength 36 years later.

Chichibu 2009 Ichiro's Malt Single Cask #640

This is from the relatively new Japanese distillery Chichibu.  Distilled in 2009 and matured in a single first fill bourbon barrel #640 until bottling in 2015.

This is one of only 214 bottles at 61.6%.

Ardbeg 1975

1970s vintage Ardbeg are becoming increasingly more and more difficult to find.

This 1975 vintage was bottled shortly after the distilleries takeover by Glenmorangie PLC in 1997.

Compass Box Lady Luck

A blended malt from the boutique blenders Compass Box containing Caol Ila and Imperial aged in American White Oak Hogshead.

Limited to 754 bottles and released in September 2009.

A single cask Cragganmore distilled in March 1993 and bottled in July 2015 by Duncan Taylor for William & Co. Spirits (China) Limited.

This series consisted of three separate releases: Clynelish, Cragganmore, and Laphroaig.

Each release represents a Chinese Idiom. This bottling represents 'Feel Just Like a Fish in Water'.
