Vega Sicilia \"Valbuena\" 3 ano 1979 Ribera Del Duero

Vega Sicilia is Spain's most renowned producer and traces its roots back to 1864.  American wine guru Robert Parker (Wine Advocate) has called Vega Sicilia \"One of the world's most iconic wines'.

Vega Sicilia is noted for its patience in winemaking and willingness to hold onto their inventory and age their wines in the barrel - sometimes for several decades - before they release their wines to the market.  Vega Sicilia produces three wines: \"Unico\" Gran Reserve, \"Unico\" Reserva Especial and \"Valbuena\".

This bottle, a 1979 vintage \"Valbuena\" 3 ano, is predominantly Tempranillo with a small amount of Merlot and aged for 3 years in oak.

A peaty Tobermory independently bottled by Gordon and MacPhail. Distilled in November 2004 and bottled 11 years later.

In 1890, 5 families from the north of Spain, each passionate about wines, established the Sociedad Vinícola de La Rioja Alta - The Wine Society of the Rioja Alta.  A few years later, in 1904, one of these founding-members proposed the merger of his Ardanza winery with the society and thus the creation of La Rioja Alta S.A.

The \"904\" range is today one of LRA's flagship wines, second only to the exquisite \"890\" - both of which are released only in exceptional years. This wine is from the 1973 vintage, a blend of old-vine Tempranillo (90%) with Graciano (10%) which has been matured for 4 years in American oak barrels.

Viña Tondonia Reserva 1982

Bodegas López de Heredia is located by Haro, in the heart of the Rioja Alta region.  One of the first 3 commercial wine houses to be built, the history and success of the region and the estate are closely linked.

Viña Tondonia is one of the cellars of the renowned Rioja estate, Bodegas López de Heredia.  A blend of Tempranillo (75%), Garnacho (15%), Graciano and Mazuelo together contributing only 10%, aged in oak barrels for 6 years; 1982 vintage.
