Karuizawa 1984 30 Year Old Cask Single Cask #7857 / Samurai

Karuizawa is unique, there are so few releases in the last couple of years of this legendary malt which just goes to show how scarce and exclusive these single cask offerings are.

This is one of three Karuizawa single casks all branded under the Samaurai range available in this auction.

Distilled in 1984 and matured for 30 years until bottling in 2014, limited to only 508 bottles.

Karuizawa 1984 29 Year Old Single Cask #3662

From this incredibly popular lost Japanese distillery, which has produced so many internationally acclaimed malts.

Distilled in 1984 and bottled from a single cask #3662 by The Whisky Exchange.

Killyloch 1967 36 Year Old

A very rare bottling of whisky from Killyloch.  The distillery existed within the long lost Moffat distilling complex, which combined of two malt distilleries Killyloch and Glenflagler and that of the Moffat Grain distillery.  The distillery was built in 1965 and closed in July 1985.  Killyloch was a slightly higher peating level, according to the Malt Maniacs at a level of around 3ppm with a higher peating level used for another malt produced in these rare stills cale Islebrae.  Production of Killyloch ceased much earlier than that of Glen Flagler in 1970 when the pot stills for this malt were removed.

This 36 year old official release from Inverhouses is a combination of the six of the last remaining casks that belonged to Inverhouse, the proprietors of the distillery, Glen Flagler. 

A release of only 371 bottles this is bottle number 68.

Includes a lovely wooden box and certificate of authenticity.

Another new single cask Karuizawa for us, distilled in 1982 and bottled in 2012 with a fantastic label - shame we missed Halloween with this one!

Single bourbon cask #8529 yielded only 411 bottles.

Karuizawa 1980 34 Year Old Single Cask #6476

As with many of the Karuizawa bottlings that we list in our auctions, the labels are fantastic! 

Distilled in March 1980 and bottled in July 2014 aged 34 years.

Single cask #6476 is an ex-bourbon cask.

Karuizawa 1981 30 Year Old Single Cask #6207

Karuizawa produced outstanding whiskies, many of which have received international acclaim.

Another cracking single cask from Karuizawa, distilled in 1981 and bottled 30 years later on the 5th September 2011. 

543 bottles were released.

Karuizawa Noh 27 Year Old Multi Vintages Batch #1

La Maison Du Whisky released a number of multi-vintage Karuizawa's, bottled under the Noh release brand.

This is the original multi-vintage Karuizawa from 1981, 1983 and 1984 bottled October 2011.

The whisky used was from Sherry Butts and Bourbon casks from 1981, 1981, 1983 and 1984; cask numbers #6405, #4973, #8184 and #6437.

Karuizawa Cask Strength Selection 4 x 70cl

This cask strength series of Karuizawa was exclusively released to the Taiwanese market, this includes all four releases.

The cask strength series is a combination of sherry casks from 1999 and 2000 all bottled at 61.7%

Old Elgin 50 Year Old

Distilled in the Winter of 1940 and matured for 50 years prior to being bottled in \"The Whisky Capital of Scotland\" Elgin. 

This is a 50 year old Speyside single malt, Gordon and MacPhail have bottled Macallan, Glenlivet and Mortlach from this era. This may be one of them but it may not be.

Please note the low fill level and that this bottle has a fragile wax seal. 

Karuizawa 1994 Noh Single Cask 15 Year Old

A single cask Karuizawa bottled within the infamous 'Noh' series, with the usual friendly face on the front!

Distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2010 from a single sherry butt with cask number #270, which yielded 480 bottles.

Please note that the wax has tiny bubbles in it. 

Brora 1972 Whisky Shop 30 Year Old

One of Brora's legendary1972 vintages. This was distilled in March 1972 and bottled in February 2003 by The Whisky Shop.

Karuizawa 1992 Single Cask #3434 Whisky Magazine

A single cask bottling of Karuizawa selected by the editor of Whisky Magazine.

Distilled in 1992 and matured in an American white oak sherry butt, #3434, bottled in 2007 at 15 years old.

Brora 1974 Douglas Laing 26 Year Old

An older independently bottled Brora, distilled in November 1974 and bottled in April 2001. 

A single cask that's been bottled with no chill filtration and no colouring. 

One of 258 bottles.

Brora 35 Year Old 2012 Release

Another fantastic release from Diageo as part of their ongoing annual super premium releases.

Released in 2012 this was the oldest official bottled Brora at the time, only more recently beaten by the single cask 40 year old currently available at Travel Retail for no less than £6,995 which makes these bottlings seem a bargain!

Matured in ex-bourbon casks filled in 1976 and 1977, this 35 year old Brora is bottle number 0929 of 1,566

Karuizawa 2000 Tokyo Bar Show 2013 #7603

Distilled in the year 2000, matured in a single sherry butt #7603 before bottling in 2013 for the Tokyo International Bar Show.

Prior to the distilery closing and the stock being sold to Number One Drinks, the distillery was owned by Mercian wine company which is when this 15 year old was released. 

Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch #6 75cl (US Import) 

From the distillery website the Balvenie Tun 1401, Batch 6 is a skillful marriage of some of the rarest treasures from the distillery’s Warehouse 24 – an unrepeatable selection of spirits sourced from seven traditional whisky casks and two sherry butts, whose ages span a number of decades, and which have all been hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. The whisky was rested for several months in Tun 1401 – The Balvenie’s traditional oak marrying vessel – to create a single malt that enhances its already precious parts.

The expression has been exclusively created for the U.S. market, and follows the hugely successful Batch 3, which was released in 2011. In 2013, Batch 9 was also introduced especially for the U.S. market.

Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch #9 (US Exclusive) 75cl

From the distillery website, this was inspired by and produced in one of the oldest warehouses at our distillery, Batch 9 is a skillful marriage of some of the rarest treasures from Warehouse 24. Bowmore Fly Fishing Championships 2003

A very limited bottle of Bowmore that was released for the European Fly Fishing championships on Islay in 2003.

Bruichladdich 1986 Blacker Still 20 Year Old

Bruichladdich released the Blacker Still in 2006, matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks for 20 years. 

This was the first release in the ‘Still’ series and quickly became an icon of collectable Bruichladdich. 

Only 2840 bottles were produced, this is bottle number 1693 of 2840.

Bruichladdich 1984 Redder Still 22 Year Old

This is the second in the \"Still\" series after the Blacker Still. This was distilled in 1984 and bottled in 2007, it was matured in first-fill bourbon casks prior to being finished in Chateua Lafleur Bordeaux. 

Bottle number 1683 of 4080. 

Bruichladdich 1984 Golder Still 23 Year Old

Continuing the \"still\" series, this is the Golder Still, a Bruichladdich matured in experimental casks from American cooperages in the 1980s. These Squat American Bourbon casks give extra wood contact.

Bowmore Fly Fishing 12 Year Old

A very limited bottle of Bowmore that was released for the Commonwealth Fly Fishing championships on Islay in June 2009.
