Ardbeg 1976 Single Cask #2390 Feis Ile 2002

A Single sherry butt #2390 was filled on 24th November 1976 and matured for 25 years prior to bottling on 27th April 2002 for the Feis Ile. Only available at Ardbeg Distillery, 494 bottles of this Ardbeg were filled. This is bottle 427 of 494.

The Ardberg Distillery lies on the most Southernly part of Islay and on the rugged shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Ardbeg Alligator Committee Reserve For Discussion

Released for discussion by the Ardbeg Committee.

Released in June 2011, Ardbeg Alligator takes its name from the aggressive charring of the American casks the whisky was matured in.  This charring level is known as the Alligator char because the cracking of the wood under the heat looks similar to the skin of an Alligator.

Ardberg is revered around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, most complex whisky of them all.
