You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.
Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.
Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £55.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).

Our system increases bids based on preset increments, as shown in the table below, whether you set a maximum bid or make a single bid.

Avonside 1938 Gordon and MacPhail 33 Year Old / Edward and Edward
Rumour has it that Avonside was actually single malt from Glenlivet, however the title has also been used by Gordon and MacPhail for younger blends and blended malts. This was distilled in 1938 and bottled as a 33 year old.
The black and red labelled Connoisseurs Choice labels were the very first. The range was devised for Edoardo Giaccone in Italy in the early 1970s, and became part of the main Gordon & MacPhail portfolio in 1979. It is now one of the most widely recognised independent whisky labels in the world.
Giaccone was something of a trailblazer, and was importing specially bottled official single malts for his bar from the late 1960s, this is one of his earliest. He opened the famous venue in 1958, and it has been called a few different things over the years, including Garten, Edward & Edward (during the period this was imported), and La Taverna del Comandante.
Edoardo set the stage for later legendary bottlers such as Silvano Samaroli, Nadi Fiori and Ernesto Mainardi. Moon Import founder, Pepi Mongiardino said, \"he was the first person I visited\" when he became the distributor for Bruichladdich in 1981. Giaccone did not have any of his own labels or series, but was the first person in Italy to have official bottlings produced exclusively for him. Through his bar, Italy was treated to exclusive releases from Clynelish, Bowmore, Dalmore, Highland Park and even Jack Daniel's.
Glenlivet
One of the best-known names in Speyside, the distillery was founded in 1859 by George Smith and remained family-owned until the 1970s when acquired by Seagram. It is today the crown jewel of the Pernod Ricard portfolio and one of the best-selling single malt brands globally.
Avonside
A brand name used over the years by Scottish independent bottler, Gordon & MacPhail. Bottled via its Avonside Whisky Ltd and Jas. Gordon & Co subsidiaries, it has been used to market both blended Scotch and single malts from Glenlivet distillery.
Gordon & MacPhail
Perhaps one of Scotland's most important whisky companies, Gordon & MacPhail is a historic blender, independent bottler and distiller. It was founded in Elgin in 1895 and among its brands include Benromach single malt, and independent labels such as Connoisseurs Choice and its Distillery Labels.
