Glendronach is a malt distillery located in Forgue by Huntley in the eastern Highland region of Scotland. It was founded in 1826 by a consortium lead by James Allardice and is today American-owned by the Brown-Foreman Corporation through its Benriach Distillery Company division, acquired from Billy Walker in 2016.

Despite being a key component of the Teacher's blends in the 20th century, Glendronach has long been available as a single malt and its preference for sherry cask-ageing has seen it positioned as one of the most desirable brands in the category.

Fans of Glendronach could count themselves somewhat fortunate that the distillery has always found itself in the hands of ownership that has valued the single malt category, and it was bottled as early as the 1930s by Captain Charles Grant (youngest son of William Grant of Glenfiddich). These were confidently labelled as "the perfect self whisky" and interestingly as "most suitable for medicinal purposes."

Following the distillery's acquisition by Wm. Teacher & Sons, the Glendronach brand was relaunched in 1970s and sold as an 8- and 12-year old in green glass bottles, with an 18-year-old added in the 1980s. Allied Distillers then relaunched the brand in the mid-1980s, introducing two new 12-year-olds, one fully matured in sherry casks and the sherry and plain oak-matured Original. A vintage 18-year-old was also introduced in 1990 before the core range was updated again the following year as Glendronach became of the four distilleries represented in Allied Distillers' short-lived Caledonian Malts collection. The chosen expression was the mixed maturation 12-year-old, now called Traditional, while the 100% sherry cask offering was upgraded to a 15-year-old.

The brand was relaunched yet again in 2004 by Allied Domecq, with the 12-year-old now reverting to Original as its name. Then, following the takeover of the distillery by The Benriach Distillery Company in 2008, the range was revised and expanded. The Original switched to full sherry cask-ageing, and was joined today by the similarly matured 15-, and 18-year-olds, known as Revival and Allardice, respectively. These still comprise the current core range alongside the 21-year-old Parliament which was introduced in 2011.
