Clydeside
Clydeside is a malt Scotch whisky distillery located along the banks of the River Clyde in Glasgow. It is housed within an old Pump House in the city's Queen's Dock, built in 1877 by John Morrison of the Morrison & Mason building company and great-grandfather of distillery founder, Tim Morrison. The building had previously housed a museum and a curry restaurant, among other things, before being converted into Clydeside distillery in 2016.
Originally the project had intended to be called Glasgow distillery, however excavation work delayed construction and allowed the Glasgow Distillery Company in Hilltington to christen the name first. Clydeside filled its first casks in November 2017.
The Clydeside single malt brand was launched in October 2021 with the release of its inaugural batch of its flagship expression, Stobcross. The whisky a a vatting of 4-year-old American and European oak casks from its earliest 2017 vintage.
Batches of Stobcross are released on a semi-regular basis alongside limited editions that included a special single malt bottling for the COP26 event in Glasgow in 2021, and single cask bottlings available for distillery visitors to hand-fill.
