Robertson & Baxter
Robertson & Baxter Ltd is a today a dormant subsidiary of the Edrington Group, however has a long and important role in shaping the landscape of the Scotch whisky industry. It was established in 1860 by William Alexander Robertson and John Baxter, and over the years had subsidiary interests in The Clyde Cooperage Company, Hepburn & Ross and Lang Brothers, as well as shareholdings in Highland Distillers and Lothian Distillers.
In 1961 the business was placed into a new holding company called Edrington, which later merged the assets of it and Highland Distillers under a single group identity in 1999.
