Halewood Artisanal Spirits
Halewood Artisanal Spirits is a large wine and spirits multinational, incorporated in England in 1978 by John Halewood. It was originally established in Halewood's garage and sold Bulgarian wines, later launching its own sherry brand. The company expanded rapidly through the 1990s, eventually entering the whisky industry through its acquisition of the Crabbie brand in 2006.
Today the company's spirits interests include the Aber Falls, Bankhall and Bonnington distilleries, as well as American Eagle and The Pogues Irish whiskey label. It also makes Whitley Neill gin and Dead Man's Fingers rum.
