Bankhall
Bankhall is an English whiskey distillery that was built by and continues to be owner and operated by Halewood Artisanal Spirits. It was opened in Blackpool in 2018 and takes its name from the historic Bank Hall distillery that once operated in Liverpool in the 19th century.
The Bankhall project was headed by Vince Oleson, formerly of the Widow Jane distillery in Brooklyn, New York, and aimed to bring American distilling practices to the UK. The distillery currently operates three copper pot stills and produces a range of American-style whiskey spirit as well as some single malt.
The Bankhall whisky brand was launched in 2021 with the introduction of the distillery's inaugural bourbon-style grain spirit called Rebellion. It was produced using a mash bill of corn, rye and malted barley.
The distillery currently offers a core range expression distilled from the same recipe, called Sweet Mash, and a batch release called Rye Rebellion which is produced using a mash bill of solely rye and malted barley.
