Deanston Distillers Ltd
Deanston Distillers Ltd was a company established in 1964 by the blender, Brodie Hepburn Ltd. It was set up in order to acquire and convert the mill that currently houses the Deanston distillery. The work began in 1965 and it opened the distillery on 17th October 1966. Brodie Hepburn was subsequently acquired by Invergordon Distillers in 1972 and was retained as a non-trading subsidiary until sold to Burn Stewart Distillers in 1990. It subsequently re-emerged as the Deanston Distillery Company.
In its brief time, Deanston Distillers marketed some young single malt under the Old Bannockburn brand name. This was introduced in 1971 and, confusingly, was also used to sell some blended malt as well.
