Athrú Annacoona 14 Year Old Single Malt - First Edition
Annacoona is a traditional name for Benbulben, the table topped peak that shelters Lough Gill from northerly winds and the setting for the climax of the old Irish legend about the lovers Diarmait and Grania.
Aged in oloroso and PX sherry casks, this is one of three releases in Lough Gill's Creation Trilogy.
Athrú
A brand of single malt Irish whiskies marketed by the Lough Gill distillery in Sligo, Ireland. Launched in 2019 by by former distillery owners, Hazelwood Demesne, they are bottled using casks sourced from other distillers.
Hazelwood Demesne
A company established in 2014 to acquire the Hazelwood Estate in Sligo, Ireland, and put into action plans to build a distillery on the site. It opened the Lough Gill distillery in December 2019 and launched its Athrú whiskey brand in the same year. It was subsumed by the Sazerac Company in 2022.
