Hazelwood Demesne

Hazelwood Demesne Ltd was established in 2014 in order to acquire the Hazelwood Estate in Sligo, Ireland. It did so the following year, and obtained planning permission to begin construction of the Lough Gill distillery in 2016. The distillery opened in December 2019 and the company launched its Athrú whiskey brand in the same year, which it bottled using asks sourced from other distillers.

In 2022 it was announced that the business has been acquired by the American multinational, Sazerac Company, and it was absorbed into the company's Irish division which already managed the Paddy and Michael Collins brands.
