Midleton Master Distillers' Selection / The  Housewarming

To celebrate retiring Master Distiller Barry Crocket's legacy, and to welcome successor Brian Nation, this whiskey is a coming together of two whiskies they selected. 

This was released at the Housewarming event on the 4th of September 2013.

This particular bottling is likely from the late 1990s / early 2000s

Myers's Rum 1950s / US Import

A molasses-derived blend of nine rums, all originating from Jamaica in the Caribbean.

In production since 1879 and now produced by Diageo, Myers' is world famous for it's dark, yet mellow character. 

This is a 1950s bottle, imported to the US market by Delphenha & Co, NY.

Macallan Cask Strength 58.5% 75cl / US Import

An older release of cask strength Macallan produced for the US market.

Presented in the matte red box.

Midleton Very Rare 1986 Edition / with Mullingar Pewter Measure

This famous blend of whiskies was initially produced by Jameson's Master Distiller, Barry Crockett, and has been released in very limited quantities on  an annual basis since 1984 right up to the current year. In 2013, when Barry  Crockett retired, in his honour Irish Distillers released the acclaimed 'Barry  Crockett Legacy' whiskey. In 2014, Brian Nation took over as Master Distiller and he has carried on the proud Midleton Very Rare tradition right up to the present day.

The whiskey is aged somewhere between 12 and 25 years and matured solely in Bourbon casks. Each bottle is individually numbered and carries the signature of the Master Distiller.

The third release from this great range and includes a Mullingar pewter measure

The 1986 edition contains whisky of vintages exclusively matured at the closed Old Midleton distillery.

A single cask release from New Midleton distillery in Cork, Ireland. Distilled in November 1991, cask #48735 was a first fill bourbon barrel.

Bottled in 2015 for The Whisky Exchange.

Macallan Decades Fifties

The Macallan Decades consists of four whiskies that were created to recreate the style of whiskies from the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s and 1950s.

This bottle was created to replicate the style of Macallan from the 1950s, which is described as being of 'intriguing depth' and with a subtle hint of peat. 

Macallan Edition No.3 3 x 70cl

This is the third release in a planned annual limited release.

A collaboration between Bob Dalgarno and Master Perfumer, Roja Dove.

The liquid has been matured in the following types of cask:

• 1st fill Hudosa Butt
• 2nd fill Butt
• 1st fill American Tevasa butts and puncheons.
• 1st fill European Tevasa hogsheads.
• 1st fill Bourbon hogsheads and barrels.

Presented in the white and gold packaging featuring the Sara Midda watercolours of Easter Elchies House, synonymous with Macallan of the period.

Millburn 1975 Rare Malt 25 Year Old / 61.9%

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

Millburn distilled in 1975 and bottled in October 2001 at 61.9% vol.

Old Macallan is great, and these independent bottlings can be a great way to get your hands on some for less than the equivalent distillery bottling and often they can be fantastic and unusual examples.

This 1975 vintage was bottled in 1995 at 20-21 years old by the venerable Berry Brothers and Rudd.
