Ardenistle 1991 Samaroli​ Islay Pure Malt 

An Islay pure malt from unnamed distilleries (though it is understood to be a vatting of Ardbeg and Laphroaig).

Distilled in 1991 and aged in single cask AR04001 before being bottled in 2006.

Bottle 42 of only 438 produced.

Ardbeg Supernova SN2015

The fourth and final release of Supernova... SN2015.

With Ardbeg having blasted whisky into space and it having returned successfully, we are being treated to a new Supernova. We'll need to wait and see as to what Dr Lumsden has to say about zero gravity maturation... probably that it isn't cost efficient. Peated to over 100 PPM, this is a big bang of a whisky. Truly out of this world. A star of a dram. Is that enough space puns yet?

A very cool nod to the shady history of Arran's distilling. Back during the 18th and 19th century the island was a producer of illicit whisky. Presented in a book style package to hide the goods.

The whisky itself represents the type of dram the illict producers would create. It is a mixture of Port Pipes and Sherry Hogsheads containing unpeated spirit and oak barrells containing peated spirit. An all-together heavier style dram than what is produced today.

This is the first edition of the trilogy, released in 2015. One of only 8,700 bottles.

The whisky itself is a peated spirit matured in rum casks and finished in first fill bourbon barrels.

Released in September 2012, the Ardbeg Galileo quickly sold out at retailers.

Aged for 12-13 years, the Galileo is a combination of casks matured in first-fill bourbon casks and enhanced with a finishing in ex-Marsala wine casks.

Kyoto Ki Noh Bi Ex-Karuizawa Cask Dry Gin / 3rd Edition

This gin is extra special as it was matured in ex-Karuizawa sherry casks, marking the first-ever collaboration between Japanese whisky and Japanese gin. The Kyoto Distillery’s “Ki Noh Bi” Dry Gin is also the first Japanese gin to collaborate with the Noh Theatre, like the legendary Karuizawa distillery did before it. Noh is one of Japan’s traditional performing arts.

Kyoto Ki Noh Bi Ex-Karuizawa Cask Dry Gin / 3rd Edition

This gin is extra special as it was matured in ex-Karuizawa sherry casks. The earliest edition of this marked the first-ever collaboration between Japanese whisky and Japanese gin. The Kyoto Distillery’s “Ki Noh Bi” Dry Gin is also the first Japanese gin to collaborate with the Noh Theatre, like the legendary Karuizawa distillery did before it. Noh is one of Japan’s traditional performing arts.

Other editions of the Ki Noh Bi gin have been matured in ex-Chichu distillery barrels and Caroni rum casks, another legendary closed distillery.

This release was exclusive to Europe and Japan and was released in March 2018.

Ardbeg 1998 Renaissance

The conclusion of Ardbeg's 'Peaty Path to Maturity', distilled in 1998 and bottled as a celebration for Ardbeg reaching 10 years old following the rebirth of the distillery in the hands of Glenmorangie plc. 

Ardbeg Dark Cove Committee Release

The Ardbeg committee release for 2016, this has been matured in ex-bourbon casks with a heart matured in dark sherry casks.

The style has been inspired by the history of illicit distilling on the Island of Islay, many people were involved including Allan and Alexander the uncles of John McDougall founder of Ardbeg distillery.

This is the limited committee release, whereas a more available lower ABV edition was launched for Ardbeg Day/Night. 

Ainslie's Royal Edinburgh Miniature 1950s

Ainslie's Royal Edinburgh is a famous blend containing high quantities of Clynelish malt.

This 1950s example will contian original Clynelish whisky, better known nowadays as Brora.

Ardbeg Ardbog

Released as Ardbeg’s annual Feis Ile offering at the start of June 2013. Alongside Ardbeg distillery, it was also released at Ardbeg Embassies. 

A vatting of 10 year old Ardbeg matured in bourbon casks with a ‘heart’ matured in Manzanilla sherry casks.

This Ardbeg was released in connection with the North Highland Initiative (NHI) a charity which helps rural communities across the Northern Highlands.

Elegantly packaged, it is a combination of first fill and refill ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. Please do not mistake this Kildalton for that which was released in 2004, 10 years previously.

Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch #6

Aberlour A'Bunadh is bottled at cask strength in the tradition of 19th century single malts when villagers would come to the distillery to collect their dram straight from the cask, often in apothecary bottles obtained from the village chemist. These were the inspiration for the A'Bunadh bottle shape today.

A'Bunadh is bottled using only Spanish Oloroso sherry butts, this is batch #6 released in 1999.

The Manager’s Dram series of whiskies were bottled exclusively for employees of what is now known as Diageo.  These whiskies were selected by the respective distillery managers within Diageo malt distilling and bottled at natural cask strength.
