Bowmore 1967 Largiemeanoch 12 Year Old

An incredibly rare Bowmore bottled under the Largiemeanoch label for The Howgate Wine Co Ltd., Edinburgh.

This is a legendary bottle of whisky, distilled at Bowmore in 1967 and matured in the finest sherry cask # 2655 / 6 / 7, for 12 years.  This rarely appears at auction and we are delighted to be able to offer this exceptionally rare, mythical bottle of whisky in our November 2016 auction.

Please note the bottle is not sealed, however this is not uncommon with these bottles, we don't doubt the authenticity of the contents.

Bowmore 1964 Black Bowmore 30 Year Old 2nd Edition

An icon of the whisky world, it's hard to fathom where whisky collecting would be today without the Black Bowmore. 

The second release was distilled in 1964 and matured within a single Oloroso sherry cask then bottled in the mid-nineties. 

This is bottle number 615 of 2000.

Bowmore 8 Year Old Sherriff's / 1970s

A legendary Bowmore, the Sherriff's bottling was originally released during the 1960s and created before the distillery was sold to Stanley P Morrison.

This early 1970s bottling is highly sought after and in absolutely stunning condition having been carefully looked after for over 30 years.

Bowmore 30 Year Old Sea Dragon 75cl / US Export

Nicknamed 'the seadragon' due to the mythical beast adorning the rather pretty black ceramic bottle and box, this 30 year old Bowmore appeared in the mid 1990s and has achieved almost mythic status.

The contents of this decanter are almost entirely made up of long-aged casks from the legendary 1960s vintages.

Likely to be a US Export bottling, despite the missing Surgeon General Warning on the back of the bottle. 

Benriach 1966 Gordon and MacPhail 50 Year Old / 60th Anniversary La Maison du Whisky

A wonderful old Benriach released from Gordon and MacPhail for the 60th Anniversary of La Maison du Whisky. 

Distilled on the 17th of March 1966 and bottled an impressive 50 years later on the 13th of July 2016.  

This is from cask #606 a 1st fill American Hogshead. 

Ben Wyvis 1965 Final Bottling 37 Year Old

The final bottling from one of the last five casks of Ben Wyvis. Distilled on 17th June 1965 before the distillery ceased production in 1976 and matured for 37 years. 

The bottle number 62 of only 200 from cask number 300066 released.

Brora 1977 Whisky Magazine Editor's Choice / Japan Exclusive

A very unique and rare example of this famous closed Highland distillery.  

Distilled on 24th February 1977 and bottled on September 11th 2003 from a single cask #529.  (Please note that no bottle number is given on this label).

The Whisky Magazine Editor's Choice was select exclusively for Japan by Marcin Miller and the Michael Jackson and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society

Balvenie Tun 1858 Batch #1

A marriage of 6 American Oak casks and 3 European Oak Sherry casks created the first limited edition Balvenie Tun 1858, for the Taiwanese market. A limited release of only 2,600 bottles this has rarely been seen at auction.

As with the Balvenie Tun 1401, these whiskies are hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. Nine traditional whisky casks and two sherry butts are combined and rested for several months in Tun 1858.  The vintages range from 1966 and 1975.

Brora 1972 Gordon and MacPhail

One of Brora's legendary 1972 vintage bottlings from Gordon and MacPhail, the majority of which have scored well into the 90s from Whisky Fun.

This Connoisseur's Choice bottling was distilled in 1972 and bottled in 1995.

Brora 1974 Douglas Laing 26 Year Old

An older independently bottled Brora, distilled in November 1974 and bottled in April 2001. 

A single cask that's been bottled with no chill filtration and no colouring. 

One of 258 bottles. 

Bowmore Mizunara Cask Finish

Bowmore 1991 Keizo Saji's Cask 21 Year Old

At the time the president of Suntory, Mr Keizo Seji visited Bowmore distillery in 1991 and oversaw the filling of a single sherry cask.  After the death of Mr Seji his son visited Bowmore distillery and donated his fathers cask to the employees of Morrison Bowmore.  

The single sherry cask was distilled in 1991 and bottled in 2012, this 21 year old Bowmore was only given to employees of Morrison Bowmore.

Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch #3 75cl / US Exclusive

As with the previous releases of Balvenie Tun 1401 these whiskies are hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. Seven traditional whisky casks and three sherry butts are combined and rested for several months in Tun 1401 – The Balvenie’s traditional oak marrying vessel.

This expression was chosen to be the first Balvenie Tun 1401 available in the US market and consists of the casks shown below.

Brora 1982 Rare Malt 20 Year Old

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

Brora closed in 1983 and over the years has contributed to 13 different Rare Malt Selection releases. 

Distilled in 1982 and bottled April 2003.

This limited, one-off release was created by Fred Noe the current Master Distiller at Jim Beam, Fred is the son of \"Booker\" Noe and the great grandson of the \"Jim Beam\", making him the seventh generation Beam family distiller.

This bottle forms part of the initial release of Balvenie's five-part DCS Compendium, which is a tribute to reknowned malt master David Stewart. It consists of a 2005 vintage, cask strength, 9 year old Balvenie matured in refill American Oak Hogshead.

Bowmore 1982 Kingsbury's 26 Year Old

This was bottled by Kingsbury who mostly export to Japan, they are a widely sought after independant bottler.

Released under the 'Finest and Rarest Bowmore' title this was distilled in 1982 and bottled at 26 years of age in the mid 2000s.

Bowmore 1988 Feis Ile 2013

Released at Feis Ile 2013, this 24 year old Bowmore was fully matured in a first fill bourbon cask.

A marriage of 7 American Oak casks and 3 European Oak Sherry casks went into creating Batch 2, a limited release of 2,226 bottles. A very highly sought after range from Balvenie.

Bowmore 1989 24 Year Old Feis Ile 2014 

A very popular release at this years Feis Ile, one of several Bowmore releases at this years Feis Ile.

This particular bottling was a combination of two casks  both from 1989, a first fill French oak wine barrique and a first fill American bourbon barrel.  This 24 year old whisky was limited to a mere 300 bottles which sold out by 2pm on Bowmore's open day.

Brora 1982 Douglas Laing 22 Year Old

Distilled in 1982 and bottled in October 2004, this single cask Brora was matured in a sherry casks for 22 years, bottled by Douglas Laing.

Cask #313 yielded 644 bottles.

Balvenie 30 Year Old

A well respected 30 year old from Balvenie, which won a Gold Medal at the 2010 International Spirits Challenge.

From the distillery website the Balvenie Tun 1401, Batch 5 is a skillful marriage of some of the rarest treasures from the distillery’s Warehouse 24 – an unrepeatable selection of spirits sourced from seven traditional whisky casks and two sherry butts, whose ages span a number of decades, and which have all been hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. The whisky was rested for several months in Tun 1401 – The Balvenie’s traditional oak marrying vessel – to create a single malt that enhances its already precious parts.

Batch 5 was released in the UK market and is now completely sold out.

Bowmore 22 Year Old/ The Gulls

Yet another of Bowmore's many legends.

Back in the day, When the Scots traveled from their Celtic lands to create the Kingdom of Dalriada-in-Alban, the Pictish and Brythonic tribes who already lived in the lands resisted fiercely. Legend says that the daughter of a Pictish King fell in love with a captured Scottish warrior and helped him escape. Together they fled westwards to Islay. Rowing towards the young warrior's home on the shores of Loch Indaal, a terrible storm assaulted their boat, sending it crashing into the rocky coast line.

The young Scot's clansmen found only debris and no sign of the lovers - but a pair of white gulls soared and swooped together across the Loch, settling neither on the western nor the eastern shore, as if torn between the two.

... on the whisky front this is a 22 year old Bowmore presented in a stunning blue decanter with a stylish box.

Distilled on 2nd August 1974 and bottled by hand on 28th September 2000 from single cask #10155.
