Bruichladdich 1970 I Was There 30 Year Old Valinch

This Valinch was to celebrate the first distillation of the re-opening of Bruichladdich on Tuesday the 29th of may 2001. 

The Whisky was distilled in December 1970 and matured in bourbon cask 5085 before being bottled on the day. The bottle is hand signed by Master Distiller Jim McEwan.

Bowmore Devil’s Cask Batch #3

The first batch was released in October 2013, this release from Bowmore barely even reached retailer shelves.  The Devil is rumoured to have escaped Bowmore in one of the distilleries casks, after being chased from the famous church in Bowmore; which has no corners so he was unable to hide there. 

This release was matured exclusively in first fill Oloroso and Pedro Ximinez Sherry casks then bottled at cask strength.

This is the third release. 

Brora 1981 Duncan Taylor 25 Year Old

A single cask bottling of Brora released by Duncan Taylor in their Rare Auld cask strength series.

Distilled in November 1981 and bottled 25 years later in February 2007, from single cask #1423.

This is bottle number 333 of 682.

Balvenie 30 Year Old

This Balvenie 30 year old is presented in the cream packaging that has now been replaced.

Matured in Oloroso sherry casks and bourbon casks.

Brora 1981 Duncan Taylor 27 Year Old

A single cask bottling of Brora released by Duncan Taylor in their Rare Auld cask strength series.

Distilled in November 1981 and bottled 27 years later in July 2009, from single cask #291.

This is bottle number  327 of 330.

Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch #7 Travel Retail Exclusive

As with the previous releases of Balvenie Tun 1401, these whiskies are hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. Nine traditional whisky casks and two sherry butts are combined and rested for several months in Tun 1401 – The Balvenie’s traditional oak marrying vessel.

The expression has been exclusively created for the travel retail market and consists of the casks shown below.

This cask strength series of Karuizawa was exclusively released to the Taiwanese market.  

The 3rd release is a blend of vintages from 1999 and 2000, matured in a sherry butt and bottled in 2013.

A single malt from the closed Highland distillery of Banff. 

Distilled in 1975 and bottled 2008.

A well respected 30 year old from Balvenie, which won a Gold Medal at the 2010 International Spirits Challenge.

Bruichladdich 1968 Signatory Vintage 30 Year Old

Distilled in June 1968 and bottled October 1998. 

Matured in single sherry cask number 2327 the selected and bottled for World of Whiskies.

Brora 1981 Signatory Vintage 23 Year Old

A single cask Brora distilled in December 1981 and bottled in June 2005. 

Bottled un-chillfiltered after being matured in refill butt 05/372.

From the distillery website the Balvenie Tun 1401, Batch 5 is a skillful marriage of some of the rarest treasures from the distillery’s Warehouse 24 – an unrepeatable selection of spirits sourced from seven traditional whisky casks and two sherry butts, whose ages span a number of decades, and which have all been hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. The whisky was rested for several months in Tun 1401 – The Balvenie’s traditional oak marrying vessel – to create a single malt that enhances its already precious parts.

Batch 5 was released in the UK market and is now completely sold out.

Karuizawa 1999 Asama Single Malt Whisky

An exclusive Swedish release of Karuizawa Asama bottled at 46%, rare and rarely seen at auction.

Named after the active volcano located near the now closed distillery, this single malt is comprised of 1999 and 2000 vintages which were some of the last the distillery produced. 

The whisky has been matured in European oak sherry and bottled in 2012.

Kilchoman Inaugural 100% Islay Cask Strength

The inaugural bottling of Kilchoman's popular 100% Islay releases, released from a small number of casks 100-103 and 108.

All parts of the production process for the 100% Islay were taken place at the distillery – from barley to bottle. The barley is grown, malted, distilled, matured and bottled at Kilchoman. Bottled at 50% abv and peated to a lower level to that of other releases.

Bottle number 109 of 1060.

Bowmore 1997 Hand Filled 16 Year Old / 1st Edition

Only available to fill by hand, these Bowmore exclusives are incredibly popular.  They have used seven casks since starting the hand filled bottlings at Feis Ile 2013, this is the first cask used cask#23, which was a first fill sherry cask.

Distilled in 1997 this is bottle number 117.

Bruichladdich Octomore Orpheus 2.2 

Similar to the Comus, the Orpheus release was equally peated to the same degree as its counter-part Octomore 2.1, at 140ppm.  The Orpheus was finished using Château Pétrus Bordeaux casks, recognised as one of the world’s top vineyards.  Matured for only 5 years this alongside the Comus have proven to be quite desirable bottlings.

A very rare Bruichladdich distilled in 1970 on the 16th November well before bottling in April 2002.

Bottled by Black Adder within their 'Raw Cask' series, floaters can be expected in these whiskies.

Banff 1980 Duncan Taylor 26 Year Old

From Banff distillery, distilled in November 1980 and bottled November 2006, matured in single cask #2913 for 26 years before bottling by the Huntly based independant bottler Duncan Taylor.

Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch #1

The latest 'tun' release from Balvenie following the footsteps of Balvenie Tun 1401 and 1858.

This larger Tun can hold up to four times as much liquid as Tun 1401 and hence we expect a larger quantity of this release.  This release is a combination of 42 casks, 35 traditional American oak barrels and 7 European oak sherry butts, these were married in tun 1509 for several months before bottling.
