Bowmore 1964 'Black Bowmore' Final Edition

An icon of the whisky world, it's hard to fathom where whisky collecting would be today without the Black Bowmore. 

Distilled on 5^th November 1964 and matured within Oloroso sherry casks then bottled in 1995, this is the last of three Black Bowmores released in the mid-nineties. 

This is bottle number 1006 of 1812.

Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch #1 (Distillery Exclusive)

The original Balvenie Tun 1401  hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. Four traditional whisky casks and two sherry butts are combined and rested for several months in Tun 1401 – The Balvenie’s traditional oak marrying vessel.

Batch 1 of the Balvenie Tun 1401 was only available at Balvenie distillery and consists of the casks shown below.

Distilled in June 1968 and bottled in September 1999 this is a specially selected single cask Balvenie.

Brora 1972 Douglas Laing 30 Year Old

One of Brora's legendary1972 vintages. This was distilled in 1972 and bottled in 2003 by Douglas Laing for their Old & Rare Platinum Slection.

Bowmore 30 Year Old Sea Dragon

Nicknamed 'the seadragon' due to the mythical beast adorning the rather pretty black ceramic bottle and box, this 30 year old Bowmore appeared in the mid 1990s and has achieved almost mythic status.

The contents of this decanter are almost entirely made up of long-aged casks from the legendary 1960s vintages.

Talisker 1955 Secret Stills No. 1.1 Isle of Skye 50 Year Old

As with the rest of the Secret Stills range this single malt is not named, however they do offer a clue that it was distilled at Carbost on the Isle of Skye. Will we ever solve this mystery?

Distilled in May 1955 and bottled in October 2005 makes this half a century old, this is a genuine rarity.

Brora 30 Year Old 2002 / 1st Release

This is a bottle of the original 30 year old Brora released within Diageo's Super Premium malts, back in 2002.  

Bottle number 2732  of 3,000.

Ben Wyvis 1972 27 Year Old / The Final Resurrection

This is one of the final bottlings Invergordon distillers released from this incredibly rare distillery.  Released from the final three casks #744, 1058 and 1059 within Invergordon's stock.

Distilled in 1972 prior to the distillery ceasing production in 1976.

Ben Wyvis 1972 27 Year Old / The Final Resurrection

This is one of the final bottlings Invergordon distillers released from this incredibly rare distillery.  Released from the final three casks #744, 1058 and 1059 within Invergordon's stock.

Distilled in 1972 prior to the distillery ceasing production in 1976.

The 2011 release of Brora by Diageo, was the first official bottling of Brora over the age of 30.

The 2007 release of Brora is the sicth official release of 30 year old from Diageo. 

Bottle number 1,557 of 2,958.

The second release of Brora within Diageo's super premium malts, bottled at 30 years old.

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

Brora closed in 1983 and over the years has contributed to 13 different Rare Malt Selection releases.  This bottle was distilled in 1977 and bottled in October 1998 as a 21 year old.

Bruichladdich 1970 Valinch / I Was There

A very rare Bruichladdich available at the Islay Festival in 2001 to mark the 'first distillation of the re-opening of the distillery', Tuesday 29th May 2001.

Distilled in December 1970 and bottled on 29th May 2001 by hand, signed by Jim McEwan, bottled from cask #5085.

This is bottle number 192 of 250.

Benriach 16 Year Old Cape of Storms

A very limited Benriach that was only available in South Africa, originally launched at the Whisky Live Show 2007.  The Cape of Storms limited releases followed the days when whisky was transported as ballast, in ships that travelled to the Cape from the UK and back. This unique shipping experience greatly affected the flavour, the sea, the constant motion and movement of the liquid.

Two bottlings were released, a younger 12 year old and this 16 year old.  The actual spirit used in the bottling of this 16 year old is widely regarded to be nearer 19 years old, however the later part of the maturation period was in South Africa and can not be placed legally onto the label.

Only 195 bottles of the 16 year old were released, this is bottle 121.

Bruichladdich 1970 I Was There 30 Year Old Valinch

This Valinch was to celebrate the first distillation of the re-opening of Bruichladdich on Tuesday the 29th of may 2001. 

The Whisky was distilled in December 1970 and matured in bourbon cask 5085 before being bottled on the day. The bottle is hand signed by Master Distiller Jim McEwan.

Bowmore Devil’s Cask Batch #3

The first batch was released in October 2013, this release from Bowmore barely even reached retailer shelves.  The Devil is rumoured to have escaped Bowmore in one of the distilleries casks, after being chased from the famous church in Bowmore; which has no corners so he was unable to hide there. 

This release was matured exclusively in first fill Oloroso and Pedro Ximinez Sherry casks then bottled at cask strength.

This is the third release. 

Brora 1981 Duncan Taylor 25 Year Old

A single cask bottling of Brora released by Duncan Taylor in their Rare Auld cask strength series.

Distilled in November 1981 and bottled 25 years later in February 2007, from single cask #1423.

This is bottle number 333 of 682.

Tomatin 40 Year Old

The Tomatin 40 year old is highly acclaimed and widely sought after.

Distilled in 1967 and matured in a combination of seven ex-bourbon hogshead casks. 

Balvenie 30 Year Old

This Balvenie 30 year old is presented in the cream packaging that has now been replaced.

Matured in Oloroso sherry casks and bourbon casks.

Ichiro's Blend for Isetan / Hanyu and Kawasaki

An exclusive blend produced by Ichiro Akuto the owner of Chichibu distillery and the man responsible for bringing Hanyu and Karuizawa casks to the market.  

This blend was produced for Isetan, Singapore and is a blend of Hanyu and Kawasaki both closed distilleries.  Aged between 12 and 35 years old, released October 2012.

A single cask bottling of Brora released by Duncan Taylor in their Rare Auld cask strength series.

Distilled in November 1981 and bottled 27 years later in July 2009, from single cask #291.
