Bourbon Valley 1974 24 Year Old

A classic 1974 vintage bourbon from the old Heaven Hill distillery in Bardstown.

Bottled at 24 years old in 1999 at Heaven Hill's new facility at Bernheim. Produced for the Japanese market, who preferred the flavour of older bourbon at the time, while the US mostly consumed younger whiskey.

The original Heaven Hill distillery where this was produced, tragically burned down in 1996, with bourbon produced on its stills becoming real collector's items these days.

Brora 1972 Gordon and MacPhail

One of the legendary 1972 vintage Brora bottlings from Gordon and MacPhail, the majority of which have scored well into the 90's on WhiskyFun.

Brora distillery, formerly known as Clynelish has been closed since 1983, after a new distillery was built next-door in 1967, and assumed the Clynelish name and eventually sole distilling responsibilities. The original distillery bottlings are now increasingly sought after.

This Connoisseurs Choice bottling was distilled in 1972 and bottled in 1993. Brora was distilling heavily peated single malt at this time, to make up for a shortfall in Islay whisky caused by a drought. Vintages from 1973 onwards revert to the lightly peated Highland style.

Booker's 10 Year Old Small Batch Bourbon / 25th Anniversary Edition

This bourbon is hard to find outside of the USA, which is surprising considering everyone loves it.

This is 10 years old and bottled at cask strength. The Booker's brand is a subsidiary of Jim Beam and was named after former master distiller, Booker Noe. His son Fred is now the current master distiller and is on record as having said, \"if you’re drinking Booker’s, you better have your pajamas on!” Jim Beam have two distilleries in Kentucky where they produce their bourbon, but Booker's is the only only brand produced exclusively at one of them; the Boston Road plant, now also known as the Booker Noe distillery.

It's said to be Beam's long-term ambition to elevate Booker's to one of its high end premium brands, limiting its release schedule, so this is as good a time as any to stock up.

This is the special commemorative release, bottled to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Booker's brand.

Black Maple Hill Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Black Maple Hill is owned by Californian company, CVI Brands. They do not own a distillery and contract the bottling of the brand to outside sources, initially with Julian Van Winkle in 2000, and then Kentucky Bourbon Distillers, who produced this.

KBD eventually hads to reserve their warehoused stocks for their own popular Willett Family Reserve brand, so CVI have been sourcing their from the Stein distillery in Oregon since 2014.

These hand-bottled releases of the Kentucky bourbon are difficult to come by.
