Saburomaru 1960 55 Year Old Japanese Single Malt

This is the oldest bottled Japanese whisky ever... 

Wakatsuru Shozou own Saburomaru Distillery, which has been producing limited amounts of whisky since 1952/3, This was distilled in 1960 and matured in a red wine cask with the characteristics of \"Port\" for 55 years.

The malt was heavily peated and distilled in a continuous still (By current Scotch Whisky Association rules this wouldn't be allowed to be called a single malt if produced in Scotland). 

Bottle number 75 of only 155 bottles. 

Springbank 1967 Local Barley

Springbank produced several 'Local Barley' bottlings from the mid 1960s, all of which have reached legendary status.

Distilled in October 1967 and bottled in August 1988.

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

A spectacular bottling of St Magdalene, released as part of Diageo's famous 'Rare Malt Selection'.  

Distilled in 1979 and bottled as a 19 year old at a healthy 63.80%.

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

A bottle of the earlier St Magdalene bottled as part of the Rare Malt Selection, distilled in 1970 and bottled around 1993.

Distilled in 1977 and matured in a sherry cask until 2015. 

Suntory Yamazaki Very Rare Old 4 Litre 1970s / with Cradle

A fantastic bottling of Suntory whisky, long discontinued.  Presented in a unique, dumpy bottle.

Allthough these bottles were normally stated as blends, this one is stated as being from Yamazaki Distillery.  The neck label states \"Guaranteed to be a blend of the choice whiskies produced in our distillery.\"

We believe this bottle may be from the 1970s and includes a hinged pouring cradle.

This lot has a 5 bottle shipping fee.

Sazerac 18 year old is widely regarded as one of the best Rye whiskies in the world.

This is an rare Austrian Exclusive bottling of single cask Springbank, named Starkicker

Distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2016 at 21 years old from a fresh sherry cask.

Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon / Commemorative Bottling​

This whisky is named after the legendary Elmer T. Lee, 1919-2013, who was hired in 1949 by Col. Albert B. Blanton to work at Buffalo Trace. (At the time named George T. Stagg Distillery!)

Starting from the bottom he worked his way up to Master Distiller, before retiring in 1985. He passed away in 2013 aged 93.

This is the special edition 2013 commemorative release of the single barrel sour mash Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. 

Eagle Rare 10 Year Old 101 Proof 1980s

A late 1980s bottling of 101 proof bourbon, bottled by the Old Prentice Company in New Orleans.

Interestingly, Old Prentice Distillery (now Four Roses) is based in Frankfort, Kentucky, meaning this is likely one of the first Eagle Rare to be bottled by the Sazerac company following their purchase of the brand in 1989.

Enmore 1987 Full Proof Demerara Rum / Velier Import

Pot still rum from Enmore, distilled in 1987 and bottled from special casks #193-197.

Bottled by Dutch company Breitenstein Produkten BV for Italian importers, Velier in November 2000.

Barrelled on 21st April 1990 at the old Heaven Hill distillery.

Linlithgow / St Magdalene 1982 Signatory Vintage 18 Year Old

A rare Signatory Vintage bottling of Linlithgow, the 'other' name for St Magdalene distillery which was situated in the town of Linlithgow.

Distilled 15th December 1982 and bottled 18 years later on 30th January 2001 from single cask #3001.

Ichiro's Malt & Grain Takashimaya Blend / 180th Anniversary

An exclusive blend produced by Ichiro Akuto - the owner of Chichibu distillery, and the man responsible for bringing Hanyu and Karuizawa casks to the market.

This blend was produced for Takashimaya - a Japanese department store chain with outlets throughout Pacific Asia -  for their 180th anniversary and is a blend of grain whisky from the closed Kawasaki distillery with malt whisky from either Hanyu or Chichibu.  There is no age statement, but this bottle was released in the autumn of 2011.

Bottle No. 6 of only 500.

Springbank 21 Year Old / Open Day Bottling

A single cask bottling exclusively available for the 2015 Springbank Open Day.

Distilled in December 1993 and matured in a refill claret cask bottled May 2015. 

One of 264 bottles. 

Ichiro`s Malt Gasai Cask Strength Blend / Hanyu and Chichibu

A cask strength vatting of the closed Japanese distillery of Hanyu with that of the relatively young distillery of Chichibu, where this whisky was matured, married and bottled.

Bottled exclusively for the Isetan Mitsukoshi group of Japanese department stores.

Eagle Rare 10 Year Old 1980s

An old 1980s bottling of Eagle Rare for the Italian market. This was distilled and bottled at Old Prentice distillery (formerly Seagram's and now Four Roses).

The Eagle Rare brand nowadays is produced at Buffalo Trace after it was sold to the Sazerac company a few years after this was bottled.
