Macallan 30 Year Old Fine Oak

The older Macallan is, the harder it is to find.  

Macallan 30 year old Fine Oak edition matured in a mixture of European and American oak casks.  Presented in the discontinued shiny blue box, now replaced with a wooden box.

Macallan Private Eye 

Arguably the most desirable/collectable bottle of Macallan, released in 1996 to mark the 35th Anniversary of Private Eye magazine.

The screen-printed label has been designed by the infamous Gonzo artist and Illustrator of Private Eye magazine Ralph Steadman.

The vatting used in this whisky included one cask from 1961 (#1580) amongst other casks and a total of 5,000 bottles were released.

Bottle 484 of 5,000.

Macallan Diamond Jubilee

Released in 2012 this specially designed bottle bears a unique image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II created by the sculptor Arnold Martin.

The contents of this bottle were specially chosen for the months it was drawn from the casks, 6th February, the Queen's accession and the first week in June, traditionally when the Jubilees are celebrated.  Bottled at 52% in line with the year of the Queen's accession, only 2,012 bottles were released.

Macallan Coronation

The latest in the Macallan royal bottlings, this release from June 2013 consists of two 35cl bottles with a box designed by David Holmes. One bottle depicts the queen from 1953, matured solely in American oak sherry seasoned casks, while the other matured in Spanish sherry seasoned casks.   Only 1,953 boxes were produced to convey the date of the coronation in 1953.

Only available on Macallan’s website or at the distillery this quickly became one of the fastest selling releases of 2013.

Auchentoshan 1973 32 Year Old Sherry Cask

A stunning single cask Auchentoshan distilled on 4th March 1973 and matured exclusively in a Sherry cask before bottling on 8th July 2005.

Ardbeg Very Young 1998

The first in Ardbeg’s \"Young\" series on their \"path to peaty maturity\", tracing Ardbeg’s path to their new 10 year old. 

It was bottled in 2004.

Ardbeg Supernova Stellar Release

Following the incredibly popular committee release of Arbdeg Supernova, this commercial release sold out quickly as well.  

Ardbeg Supernova is the peatiest Ardbeg ever released at 100ppm, an estimate 18,000 bottles were released in January 2009.

Ardbeg 17 Year Old

The first releases of Ardbeg 17 year old sparked the renewed interest in Ardbeg. 

Now, several years after being discontinued, it is still recognised as a sensational Ardbeg.

Ardbeg Day 75cl (US Import)

Available at Ardbeg distillery and across 100 Ardbeg Embassies, this was Ardbeg's Feis Ile 2012 release.

Ardbeg Day was selected from ad married in refill-sherry casks which previously were used for Uigeadail.  Only 12,000 bottles were made available worldwide.

The third replica Macallan released following the 1861 and 1874 replica's.

Ardbeg Alligator Untamed Release

A fierce charring to the cask, an 'alligator char' provides the name for this whisky, aggressive heat when applied to the inside of the casks causes the cracking of the wood which re-sembles that of an Alligators skin. 

Following the acclaimed committee release, the un-tamed edition was released in 2011 and quickly sold out.

Ardbeg Blasda

The tamed version of Ardbeg, well to a degree anyway, Ardbeg Blasda was peated to an average of 8ppm compared to the more usual 24ppm.  Rather controversially, the Blasda was also bottled in clear glass, at 40% and has been chill filtered, un-like Ardbeg's other releases which are typically un-chillfiltered and bottled in the iconic green bottle at 46% or above.

Now discontinued and becoming increasingly difficult to find.

Ardbeg Galileo 1999

Released in September 2012, the Ardbeg Galileo quickly sold out at retailers. Aged for 12- 13 years, the Galileo is a combination of casks matured in first-fill bourbon casks and a peculiar Marsala enhanced version of Ardbeg Alligator.

Macallan 10 Year Old 1990s

Produced by macallan within the 1990s, this 10 year old sherry wood carries the gold seal and brown/yellow borders and the depiction of Easter Elchies House is lower on the box beneath the age statement.

Ardbeg 1995 Gordon and Macphail

Distilled in June 1995 and just under 10 years later in February 2005 by Gordon and Macphail.

Matured in first and second fill sherry casks.

Midleton Barry Crocket Legacy

Placed at the top of the range in the new 'Single Pot Still' series released by Jameson. This is named after Midleton's long serving Master Distillery Barry Crockett.

This contains 3 levels of pure pot still whiskeys: Light, medium and what they call Mod4 (heavy pot still). Unusually for a Midleton a proportion is matured in new oak barrel, along with the usual ex-Bourbon cask ageing.

Limited to around 2500 bottles per year.

Ardbeg Ardbog

Released as Ardbeg’s annual Feis Ile offering at the start of June, alongside Ardbeg distillery it was also released at Ardbeg Embassies. 

A vatting of 10 year old Ardbeg matured in bourbon casks with a ‘heart’ matured in Manzanilla sherry casks. 

Ardbeg 1998 Dun Bheagan 14 Year Old

A 14 year old independant ARdbeg, bottled by Ian Macleod within their Dun Bheagan range of whiskies.

Distilled in June 1998 and bottled in 2012 from two casks #91031 and 91032.

Only 1,216 bottles were released.

Arran Moscatel De Setubal Finish

A limited edition bottling from Arran matured for 8 years in 'traditional oak' barrels followed by a further 10 month period in Moscatel de Setubal wine casks from Portugal.

Limited to 5,730 bottles.

Mackinlay's Shackleton Replica (1st Edition) including Book

A replica of the whisky that Ernest Shackleton took on his South Pole expedition in 1907, a number of bottles were discovered within the ice (beneath Shackleton's hut) during an expedition in 2007.

A single bottle was rescued and carefully analysed and recreated by the legendary tastebuds of Richard Patterson.

The story of the discovery and recreation is compiled in the ajoining book titled 'Shackleton's Whisky' by Neville Peat.

Mortlach 16 Year Old Flora and Fauna

The world famous Mortlach 16 year old, full bodied, heavily sherried a true cult classic.  Bottled as part of the Flora and Fauna series of whiskies.

Ardbeg Peat Pack 4 x 5cl

Released in 2006 this collectable gift pack of four 5cl miniatures.

Including Ardbeg 10, Ardbeg 17, an Ardbeg Uigeadail and Ardbeg 1981 Kildalton.

Also included is \"The story of peat and Islay malt\" written by author of the whisky bible, Jim Murray.

Arran 17 Year Old Master's Choice

A private bottling of Arran, aged for 17 years, there can't be many older Arran bottlings on the market!

Produced from single cask 96/226 which was filled at Arran on the 3rd March 1996 and bottled 31st May 2013.

Non-chill filtered and bottled at 50%, the cask yielded 300 bottles. 

Arran 1999 'Icons of Arran' The Eagle

Drawn from a combination of 14 bourbon barrels and 7 sherry hogsheads, selected by Arran's Master Distiller James MacTaggart.

Only 6,000 bottles were released worldwide, the fourth in the Icon's of Arran series, chosen because of the pair of Golden Eagles nesting above Lochranza.
