La Rioja Alta 1904 37.5cl

In 1890, 5 families from the north of Spain, each passionate about wines, established the Sociedad Vinícola de La Rioja Alta - The Wine Society of the Rioja Alta.  A few years later, in 1904, one of these founding-members proposed the merger of his Ardanza winery with the society and thus the creation of La Rioja Alta S.A.

This 37.5cl (half-bottle) is from that very first vintage of the merged wineries - incredibly old wine and a genuine piece of Spanish wine-making history!  The wine itself is likely to be a blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha, possibly with some oak barrel ageing.

The Cairdeas for 2014 is a Laphroaig that has been double matured first in \"first fill\" ex-bourbon casks then in Amontillado hogsheads for one year.

Longmorn 15 Year Old

This popular sherried Speyside whisky was discontinued a few years ago and has become a popular bottle at auction.

This older bottle was available in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Lawrenceburg 2006 Ken's Choice Golden Single Barrel

Distilled in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky (probably Wild Turkey), matured in Kentucky for 6 years prior to being shipped over to Japan to be matured in Ichiro Akuto's Chichibu distillery.

Laphroaig Cairdeas Ileach Edition Feis Ile 2011

The 2011 Feis Ile offering to the Cairdeas collection of whiskies from Laphroaig.  

This particular Cairdeas is named the 'Ileach Edition' in honour of John Campbell, Laphroaig Distillery Manager since 2006 - the first Islay native, or Ileach, to hold the position of Laphroaig's Master Distiller.

Laphroaig 18 Year Old Diamond Jubilee

This commemorative edition of Laphroaig 18 year old, was released in Summer 2012 in a specially designed tube celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

There were only 3000 of these limited edition tubes made. Jim Beam donated £3000 from the sales of these bottles to the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust which helps young craftsmen.

A whisky produced from barley malted in the distillery malting floor and then distilled in small pot stills. The whisky was then matured in Laphroaig's oldest warehouse for 11 years.

Otherwise known as 'Burnt buttered bannock bread', SMWS label their whiskies depending on the tasting notes and comments provided from their tasting panels.

This Laphroaig was distilled on 1st July 1999 and bottled as a 16 year old, only 222 bottles were released.
