Wax & Vitale was one of the largest and most historically significant Scotch whisky importers in Italy. It was originally founded in 1889 by Maurizio Wax and his cousin, Mosè Vitale, and specialised in canning fish and exporting pesto before diversifying into Scotch whisky.
The company's biggest contract was with John Walker & Sons, a partnership dating back to 1906. It imported the Johnnie Walker blends alongside numerous other brands throughout the 20th century.
