Ardbeg 1815

One of the most talked about releases of 2015, the Ardbeg 1815 was bottled to commemorate the the 200th Anniversary of this legendary Islay distillery.

The whisky was distilled in 1974 and 1975 and aged for 33 years with a further 8 years spent marrying in glass containers for preservation.  

The 1974 spirit was matured in bourbon barrels while the 1975 distillate was kept in sherry casks.

As with all new Ardbeg's this bottle beautifully presented in a simple black box with perhaps the most eye-catching and stunning bottle in this auction.  

Only 400 of these bottles were released and this is an excellent opportunity to add this to your collection.

Clynelish 1972 Rare Malt 23 Year Old 75cl

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

A 75cl bottling of Clynelish, released within the Rare Malt Selection.  Distilled in 1972 and bottled as a 23 year old at 57.1%.

This is bottle number 0020.

Auchentoshan 1965 Single Cask 31 Year Old

A fantastic vintage bottling of Auchentoshan from 4th October 1965.

Matured in a single hogshead #2144.

Chichibu Ichiro's Malt American White Oak 2013 #2688

Distilled in 2013 and matured in a single American White Oak cask #2688, the Ichiro name would imply that this is a Chichibu. 

Ardbeg 1973 Sestante 15 Year Old

A rare Ardbeg bottled by the Italian bottler Sestante. 

Distilled incredibly at Ardbeg in 1973 and bottled at 43% in 1988.

Ardbeg's from this period just don't exist these days, it is well worth investigating these older bottlings, even more so when they are from bottlers such as Sestante.

Aberlour 1969

An old Aberlour, distilled in 1969 and bottled 21 years later in 1991 presented in a wooden box.

One of 3,600 bottles.

Canadian Club 1931

This very rare bottle of Canadian Club Whisky is date stamped 1931, during the U.S. prohibition period (1920 - 1933) when contraband whisky, mostly from Canada was smuggled into the USA. It is often rumoured that Hiram Walker & Sons, the owners of Canadian Club & whose name appears prominently on this label, came to prominance as a global spirits company through whisky running into the USA. 

The embossed neck capsule is covered by the original & unbroken government seal (strip stamp) personally numbered 01397 & dated 1931. The bottle shows no ABV strength or volume because it predates that legislation. The label shows 3 UK Royal Warrents to HM King George V (the reigning monarch) HM King Edward V11 1901 - 1910, HM Queen Victoria 1898 - 1901.

An old Aberlour, distilled in 1964 and bottled 25 years later presented in a lovely lockable wooden box.

Amrut Greedy Angels 10 Year Old / Including Miniature

A fantastic looking decanter and box from Amrut, containing the oldest whisky ever produced in India.  

The Greedy Angels 10 year old was released earlier this year and restricted to only 320 bottles worldwide!  

Included within the pack is a Decanter, stopper and miniature at full cask strength of 71%, the decanter is a lower abv of 46%.

Chichibu Ichiro's Malt Mizunara Heads 2011 #1429

Distilled in 2011 and matured in Mizunara wood, the Ichiro name would imply that this is a Chichibu. 

Ardbeg 1975 Bottled 2000

1970 vintage Ardbeg's are becoming increasingly more and more difficult to find.

This 1975 vintage was bottled shortly after the distilleries takeover by Glenmorangie PLC in 1997.

Aberlour 1963 Cadenhead's 27 Year Old

We rarely do see Aberlour at this age, distilled in December 1963 and bottled in February 1991 by Cadenhead's.

A lovely opportunity to try Aberlour from the 1960s.

Arran First Production Decanter

Bottled from Arran's first distillation, this is also the first release of Arran.

Bottled in 1998 as a three year old presented in a decanter and wooden box.

Released within the famous and eagerly awaited Buffalo Trace Antique Selection. 

William L Weller bottlings tend to contain whiskey aged for approximately 10 to 14 years old. In recent years the William Weller bottlings are increasingly harder to get hold of.

Aberfeldy 15 Year Old Flora and Fauna Boxed

One of the most sought after Flora and Fauna bottlings, discontinued in the late 1990s when Bacardi became owners of the distillery.

Presented in the wooden box.

Clynelish 12 Year Old 1980s Ainslie & Heilbron

A 1980s bottling of Clynelish by Ainslie & Heilbron Distillers but bottled by Gordon and MacPhail, making it a semi-official bottling. 

These old Clynelish bottlings have an enormous cult following, no suprising really as they are fantastic and such a contrast from the distilleries style today.

Chichibu 2008 Newborn Bourbon Cask

A very early bottling from Chichibu, this 'Newborn' bottling was distilled June-July 2008.

Placed into cask in July 2008 and bottled in December 2008 at a strength of 62.5%.

Distilled in 1991 and bottled by Malts of Scotland in October 2011. Matured in a single sherry hogshead.

Caol Ila 1972 Gordon and Macphail 15 Year Old

An independent bottling of Caol Ila from Gordon and Macphail, distilled in 1972 and bottled 15 years later in the 1980s.

As usual with these boxes there are a few creases.

Cragganmore 12 Year Old 1980s

A very rare bottle of Cragganmore bottled during the 1980s, this presentation tube was not used for very long before being placed in the traditional cream box.

Arran Peacock 'Icons of Arran'

The original Icon of Arran whisky, released in 2009 this quickly became a popular collectors/investors item.

Distilled in 1996, matured in sherry casks and bottled in 2009, only 6,000 were released.

The first in Ardbeg’s \"Young\" series on their \"path to peaty maturity\", tracing Ardbeg’s path to their new 10 year old. 

It was bottled in 2004.

12 year old Aultmore bottled within Diageo's Flora and Fauna series, now increasingly difficult to find.

Chieftain's Choice 1964 Highland 28 Year Old

Distilled March 1964, this is a mystery Highland single malt bottled by Ian MacLeod.

Chartreuse De Tarragona 1973-1985 Yellow Label

Originally created in 1605 by monks using a recipe for an elixir of long life. 

Produced between 1904-1989 in Tarragona (Spain) after the Carthusian Monks were exiled from France. In 1989 the distillery in Tarragona closed down and the production of this liquor returned to France. Nowadays the bottles produce in the distillery of Tarragona have become one of the most expensive and sought after liquors in the world. The recipe contains more than 130 different plants and flowers, the Mediterranean character of the Tarragona distillery is bottled in this unique and limited liquor.

Ardbeg 10 Year Old / Pre - Glenmorangie

Ardbeg before the revival!  This is an Ardbeg released prior to the distilleries take over by Glenmorangie PLC in 1997.

These are highly sought after bottles offering a glimpse into Ardbeg prior to the revolution of 1997.  Not only this but production was incredibly sporadic over the previous decade.

Arran Devil's Punch Bowl Chapter I

The first edition of Arran's Devil Punch Bowl which consists of 27 casks distilled between 1997 and 2004; 17 of which are sherry casks, 6 ‘unpeated’ bourbon casks and 4 peated bourbon casks.

Known as the Angels and Devils edition, only 6,600 bottles have been released.
