Hanyu 1985 Ace of Spades Single Cask #9308

Perhaps the second most talked about bottle within Ichiro Akuto's famous Card Series of whiskies.  The Ace of Spades was released in 2006 and comes from a traditional oak cask that was re-racked into a single Spanish oak sherry butt #9308 before bottling in 2006.

Distilled in 1985 and bottled as a 21 year old, this highly sought after edition was limited to only 300 bottles, this is bottle number 50.

Bowmore 1965 Premier Range 42 Year Old

A 1965 vintage sherry cask matured Bowmore... 1960s Sherry Cask Bowmore Vintages come highly recommended by those lucky enough to try them. 

This one was bottled for Travel Retail at Heathrow's Terminal Five in 2008.

This is bottle number 46 of 57 bottles. 

Please note the leather presentation case is in very good condition, however there is wear to the outer cardboard box as shown in the fifth picture of the listing.

Bowmore 1964 White Bowmore 43 Year Old

The second in this famous series, the White Bowmore was matured strictly in bourbon casks, to create a comparison to the more famous Oloroso casks

Hanyu 1990 Queen of Hearts Single Cask #9102 

The Queen of Hearts was distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2006.

Matured in a traditional hogshead before a second period of maturation in a french oak cognac wood, cask # 9102.

This bottle is only number 22 of 324.

Hanyu 1991 Ichiro's Malt 'Card' #9001 / Jack of Clubs​

A single cask #9001 Hanyu bottled within the Ichiro's Malt series of whiskies.

Distilled in 1991 and matured in a hogshead before being moved into a American oak sherry butt for a second maturation period prior to being bottled in 2006.

Hanyu 1988 King of Diamonds Single Cask #9003

A Single cask Hanyu distilled in 1988 and matured in a hogehads prior to being finished in an American Oak Sherry Butt and bottled 2006.

Distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2010. 

Originally bottled in a hogshead then finished in a port pipe.

Balvenie 1968 Vintage Cask

The vintage cask range of whiskies from Balvenie are a fantastic insight into single casks released from this popular Speysider.

Distilled in June 1968 and bottled in September 1990 this is a specially selected single cask Balvenie, from cask #7295.

Bowmore 30 Year Old Sea Dragon

Nicknamed 'the seadragon' due to the mythical beast adorning the rather pretty black ceramic bottle and box, this 30 year old Bowmore appeared in the mid 1990s and has achieved almost mythic status.

The contents of this decanter are almost entirely made up of long-aged casks from the legendary 1960s vintages.

Balvenie Rose 16 Year Old / First Edition 53.1%

The Balvenie Rose was created to celebrate the long history of Balvenie Castle.  Margaret Douglas 'The Fair Maid of Galloway' married in turn, two of the infamous Black Douglases.  Following the murder of William Douglas at the hands of James II the Black Douglases rebelled against the Stewart King and were defeated loosing their titles and estates.  The king however was taken by Magaret's beauty and reinstated her in Balvenie Castle with an annual rent of a single red rose.

Two batches of the Balvenie Rose were released and sold exclusively at Balvenie distillery, each batch consisted of 4 refill American oak casks which were finished in a single first fill port pipe.

This is the 53.1% bottling.

Hanyu 2000 ‘The Game’ Cask #9805 Rum Finish

This is a bottle from a Japanese food and spirits importer called Shinanoya exclusively for the Japanese market.

This is the forth release in their acclaimed The Game series which contains Hanyu from the final year that the distillery was producing.

This was finished in a rum cask.

Bowmore Bicentenary

Released in 1979 this legendary bottling of Bowmore contains whisky vatted from a selection of casks from the 1960s.  This Bicentenary Bowmore, released in 1979 is widely considered one of the best Bowmore's ever bottled.

These casks were matured exclusively in Bowmore's famous No.1 Vaults warehouse, the original warehouse at the distillery, dating back to 1779.

The bottle, number G 847, bears the Morrison clan coat of arms and is a replica of a hand blown decanter and was filled in the distillery early in 1979.

This bottle forms part of the initial release of Balvenie's five-part DCS Compendium, which is a tribute to reknowned malt master David Stewart. It consists of a 1997 vintage, cask strength, 17 year old Balvenie matured in refill American Oak Hogshead.

There are two Joker's released to complete the 54 bottle series, one in colour and one in Black and White.  This particular bottling is the Colour Joker, a vatting of 14 casks covering vintages from 1985, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1991 and 2000.  The casks used for this final bottling include a sherry butt, puncheon, hogshead, Cognac, chibidaru, Madeira hogshead and bourbon.

Only 3,690 bottles of this highly anticipated whisky have been made available.

Hanyu/Kawasaki 25 Year Old Kiyosato Field Ballet 26th Anniversary

A very rare and collectible marriage of two lost Japanese distilleries: this very limited blended whisky contains 1990 Hanyu and 1982 Kawasaki.

The Hanyu was a 25 Year Old and the Kawasaki was a 33 year old. 

Bottle number 170 of 700 bottles, however there were only 200 of the hardcover editions released which features a blown glass bottle from Kobei Komaki and stopper.

Balvenie Tun 1858 Batch #1

A marriage of 6 American Oak casks and 3 European Oak Sherry casks created the first limited edition Balvenie Tun 1858, for the Taiwanese market. A limited release of only 2,600 bottles this has rarely been seen at auction.

As with the Balvenie Tun 1401, these whiskies are hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart. Nine traditional whisky casks and two sherry butts are combined and rested for several months in Tun 1858.  The vintages range from 1966 and 1975.

Distilled in in 1967 and bottled in 2009 after being matured in cask number 6282.

Brora 1975 Rare Malt 20 Year Old

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

This bottle of Brora was distilled in 1975 and matured for 20 years.

Brora 35 Year Old 2012 Release

Another fantastic release from Diageo as part of their ongoing annual super premium releases.

Released in 2012 this was the oldest official bottled Brora at the time, only more recently beaten by the single cask 40 year old currently available at Travel Retail for no less than £6,995 which makes these bottlings seem a bargain!

Matured in ex-bourbon casks filled in 1976 and 1977, this 35 year old Brora is bottle number 0,906 of 1,566

The 2009 release of Brora was rated very highly by John Hansell of The Whisky Advocat, of course we know what you are thinking.....it's Brora they are all rated very highly!

Highland Park 1977 Single Cask 29 Year Old 75cl

Distilled in 1977 then matured in cask 7957 before being bottled in 2006.

Bottled in 1991 this is a fantastic example of Highland Park distilled in the 1960s, presented in this attractive black box inlaid with a map of the Orkney isles.

Only 2,000 of the 1967 Highland Park were released.
