Springbank 1995 Single Cask 20 Year Old / Special Boat Service

This is an incredibly rare bottling of Springbank that was released privately to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of Operation Chariot carried out by the Special Boat Service in 1942.

Operation Chariot was the code name of the infamous Commando raid on St Nazaire, a German naval base on the Loire, and was an early test for the newly formed Special Boat Service (SBS). Operation Chariot has been described in history as one of the most successful Commando raids of World War Two, despite the heavy losses.

Bottled in 2012 from cask #542 only 200 bottles were created, this is bottle number 17.  

Please note that these decanters were not sealed at bottling though the stopper is tight and the liquid appears authentic.

Springbank 1995 Scoma's Reserve 18 Year Old​

A privately bottled Springbank 18 year old, titled Scoma's Reserve. Distilled in May 1995 and bottled from a single sherry hogshead #0070 in August 2013.

Springbank Elixir Distillers 24 Year Old / Art of Whisky

This well-aged Springbank was distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2017 as a 24 year old, having been - we are informed - matured in a rum cask.

This bottling is part of an exclusive range of whiskies entitled 'The Art of Whisky' released by Elixir Distillers (aka Speciality Drinks, aka The Whisky Exchange) for The Whisky Show 2017.

Scapa 10 Year Old 1980s 1 Litre

A long discontinued bottle from the Orkney distillery. We estimate this bottle to be from the late 1980s.

Springbank 1999 Local Barley 16 Year Old & 2006 Local Barley 11 Year Old 2 x 70cl​

A recent release of Springbank that has all but vanished from the shelves within hours of release.  

The first 'Local Barley' release from Springbank in decades (with one or two exceptions).  Distilled in 1999 and bottled in January 2016, the 'local barley' comes from the varietal 'Prisma' and was grown on the Kintyre Peninsula, Low Machrimore Farm. And the second distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2017, the 'local barley' comes from the varietal 'Bere' and was grown on the Kintyre Peninsula, Aros Farm.

Both limited to only 9,000 bottles.

Suntory Yamazaki Finest Old Liqueur Whisky 1960s

A fantastic bottling of Suntory whisky, long discontinued, in a unique dumpy bottle.

Although these bottles were normally stated as blends, this one is stated as from Yamazaki, though Yamazaki was producing grain whisky in this era so it could be a single blend.

The terminology \"Liqueur\" was used until the 1960s to specify a whisky of higher quality than normal.

This particularly unusual bottle still bears the name Kotobukiya Ltd, which was dropped in 1963 in place of now world renowned Suntory Ltd.

The label features a painting of Craigmillar Castle and is number 14 in a series of 18 single cask releases from High Spirits.

Sikes' Hydrometer Pre-1928​

A complete Sikes' Hydrometer set manufactured by W. Aronsberg & Co, Manchester.

The set comprises of a wooden box with velvet lining, which houses the brass weights, hydrometer float and thermometer.

The lid has inset cartouche which reads \"SIKES' HYDROMETER W. Aronsberg & Co, Manchester\" and there is an adjustment sticker on the bottom of the box dated 26th November 1928, meaning this was likely manufactured close to 100 years ago. 

A fantastic piece of memorabilia.
