Arran Smugglers' Series Volume 3 / The Exciseman

A very cool nod to the shady history of Arran's distilling. Back during the 18th and 19th century the island was a producer of illicit whisky. Presented in a book style package to hide the goods. 

This is the 2017 third release in the highly acclaimed Arran Smugglers' Series, following on from the Illicit Stills and High Seas.

Matured in Madeira and smaller bourbon quarter casks.

Ardbeg Serendipity 12 year old

The serendipitous result of an accident which occurred when a batch of 12 year old Glen Moray got mixed into a larger batch of 12 year old Ardbeg - back in the day when both distilleries were owned by Glenmorangie plc.

This blended malt was simply 20% Glen Moray and 80% Ardbeg.

Released in 2005, there were 16,000 bottles made available.

Aberlour A'Bunadh is bottled using only first fill Oloroso sherry butts, this is batch #15 released in 2005.

Arran 1997 Douglas Laing 20 Year Old​

An independently bottle single cask Arran, part of the Old Particular range from Douglas Laing.

Distilled in January 1997 and bottled from a refill hogshead ref #DL11608 in March 2017.

Ardbeg Ardbog

Released as Ardbeg’s annual Feis Ile offering at the start of June. Alongside Ardbeg distillery, it was also released at Ardbeg Embassies. 

A vatting of 10 year old Ardbeg matured in bourbon casks with a ‘heart’ matured in Manzanilla sherry casks.

Distilled 18th of March 1998 and bottled 17 years later. Matured in a bota corta sherry cask. 

One of only 606 bottles.

Aberlour 1994 Samaroli / Coilltean

A single cask bottling of Aberlour distilled in 1994 and bottled by Silvano Samaroli in 2006 after maturing in a new American medium toasted oak cask #8418.

Bottle number 9 of only 306 produced.

Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch #45

Aberlour A'Bunadh is bottled using only first fill Oloroso sherry butts, this is batch #45 released in 2013.

Arran 1996 Distillery Exclusive 19 Year Old

This is Arran's 2016 Distillery Exclusive.  

A 19 year old whisky originally distilled on the 14th October 1996 and bottled on 14th January 2016 from a single sherry butt cask #1609.

Ardbeg Blasda

This tamed version of Ardbeg was peated to an average of 8ppm compared to the more usual 24ppm.  Rather controversially, the Blasda was also bottled in clear glass, at 40% and has been chill filtered, un-like Ardbeg's other releases which are typically un-chillfiltered and bottled in the iconic green bottle at 46% or above. Now discontinued and becoming increasingly difficult to find.

Aberlour 1997 Reserve Collection / Cask Strength Edition

The Reserve Collection has been created to replace the Cask Strength series of bottlings from Chivas Brothers.  This Cask Strength edition, alongside their Single Cask editions are only available at Chivas Brother's distilleries.

Distilled on 12th December 1997 and bottled on 8th July 2015 from four casks.

Bottle number 1120 of only 1380.

Distilled in 1999 and bottled 18 years from a refill ex-Bourbon barrel.

#34 Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch

Aberlour A`bunadh is produced in the tradition of 19th century single malts from an era when villagers would come to the distillery to collect their dram straight from the cask, often in apothecary bottles obtained from the village chemist. Indeed these bottles are the inspiration for the a`bunadh bottle shape today.

Matured exclusively in Spanish Oak Oloroso Sherry butts, the rarest and most precious casks used for maturation and bottled at cask strength, a`bunadh possesses an unrivalled aromatic intensity. A richer mouth-fill and flavour complexity is achieved by bottling without the use of modern day chill-filtering methods. 

Aberlour A'bunadh is bottled using only first fill Oloroso sherry butts, this is batch #34 released in 2011.

Arran 1996 North Star 20 Year Old

An independent bottling of Arran from North Star distilled in 1996 and bottled in October 2016.

Matured in a Bourbon Hogshead Cask then finished in a Madeira cask.

One of 234 bottles.

Auchentoshan 2000 SMWS 16 Year Old 25.61​

An Auchentoshan release from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society distilled on the 1st of October 2000, and bottled after 16 years in a 1st Fill PX Hogshead

Carrying the SMWS tasting note/name 'A date with Cleopatra'.

One of 234 bottles.

A small batch Arran finished in PX Casks.

This was released exclusively for the professional whisky retailers in Denmark.

Ardnamurchan Spirit 2017/AD Limited Release No.2

This is the second release of matured new make spirit from Adelphi's Ardnamurchan distillery, which is situated near Glenbeg on the far west of the Scottish mainland. 

New make spirit matured in 1st fill sherry casks (both Oloroso and PX). The first release was 2500 bottles, we assume that this is the same.

Each bottle has a scannable QR code which reveals complete details of the spirit from barley to bottle.

Arran 2000 SMWS 17 Year Old 121.101​

A Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottling of Arran, known as 'Honey and vanilla roasted rhubarb'.

Distilled on 20th April 2000 and bottled 17 years later after having been aged in an ex-Bourbon hogshead.

One of 234 bottles.

Ardmore 1996 Bourbon and Islay Cask 20 Year Old​

A single vintage bottling of Ardmore. A marriage of 1st fill bourbon and ex-islay casks aged 20 years.

Given that Laphroaig supplied the quarter casks for the now discontinued Traditional, its a safe bet they contributed the casks for this too.
