Cardhu 1982 22 Year Old Cask Strength

An often overlooked distillery that's current output is primarily exported to mainland Europe. This is a more full flavoured example as it is cask strength and 22 years old.

Caol Ila 1984 Cadenhead's 32 Year Old

A well aged Caol Ila bottled by Cadenhead's.

Distilled in 1984 and bottled in 2016 from two bourbon hogsheads, only 210 bottles released.

Cragganmore 17 Year Old Manager’s Dram 1992

The Manager’s Dram series of whiskies were bottled exclusively for employees of what is now known as Diageo. These whiskies were selected by the respective distillery managers within Diageo malt distilling and bottled at natural cask strength.

This 17 year old Cragganmore matured in sherry casks and bottled on the 25th November 1992.

There is no bottle quantity on this item however it appears to be a 75cl bottle.

Chartreuse De Voiron Yellow Label 1970s

Originally created in 1605 by monks using a recipe for an elixir of long life. 

This Chartreuse was made in the Voiron production facility in France during the 1970s.

Coleburn 1972 Gordon and MacPhail

Distilled in 1972 and bottled by Gordon and MacPhail in 2000.

Coleburn is yet another of the many distilleries that didn’t make it through the 1980s, the production equipment is now gone so this will never produce again.

This is from the new Japanese distillery Chichibu. Distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2013, this has been produced from heavily peated malt. 
The barley used had a phenol level of 59.6ppm, higher than most Islay malts.

Compass Box Hedonism

An earlier bottling of Hedonism, a blended grain whisky made from 8 to 15 casks from distilleries including Cameron Bridge and Cambus. The majority has been matured in first-fill American oak casks.

Clynelish 1990 SMWS 10 Year Old 26.16

A Clynelish bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society.

Distilled in January 1990, bottled 10 years later in February 2000.

Chichibu 2009 'The Floor Malted' - Ichiro's Malt

Ichiro Akuta is the grand-son of the founder of the famous Hanyu distllery.  In 2007, he built a new whisky distillery 100km northwest of Tokyo.  Located near the old distillery of Hanyu the local climate (humid summers and cold winters) provides excellent maturing conditions for whisky and even though it is a young distillery Chichibu continues to release exceptional whiskies.

The Floor Malted Ichiro Malt is a limited release of 8,800 bottles distilled in 2009 from malted barley malted to Ichiro Akuto's specifications he learned himself in a trip to England, bottled 2012.

Caol Ila 1998 Feis Ile 2013

Release in June 2013 for the annual Feis Ile, this Caol Ila was specially selected by Billy Stitchell.

Billy said this about how the whisky matured:

“Spirit distilled in 1998 has been triple-cask matured. For 12 years it rested in a combination of Refill Butts, Hogsheads and Barrels. The vatted whisky was then allowed to mature for several months in active hogshead casks to impart a spicy/oaky note to the existing delicate Caol Ila smoke. Finally it was treated to a final gentle maturation in European oak.”

Caroni 1999 Alambic Classique 16 Year Old Rum

An independent single cask bottling of Trinidad Rum distilled in 1999 and bottled in 2015. 

One of 227 bottles.

This is a 26 year old single grain from Caledonian distillery, which was based in Edinburgh and closed in 1988.
