Number One Drinks

Number One Drinks is a company registered in the UK that owns the Kyoto gin distillery in Japan. It was founded in 2006 by David Croll and Marcin Miller who had previously worked together to bring the Whisky Magazine publication to a Japanese audience. Number One Drinks was the reverse of this cultural exchange and imported Japanese whiskies into European markets, most notably promoting single malts from recently closed distilleries such as Karuizawa and Hanyu, and important new ones like Chichibu.

The company acquired the entirety of the remaining Karuizawa casks from Kirin in 2011, gradually bottling the dwindling stock over the subsequent years. Today the company's focus is on its flagship Ki No Bi gin from its Kyoto distillery and brand.
