Millburn 1969 Rare Malt 35 Year Old

The Rare Malt Selection is a historic selection of single malt whiskies from operational and lost distilleries that were released by Diageo between 1995 and 2005.

This Millburn was distilled in 1969  and bottled as a 35 year old at 51.2%.

Bottle number 4200.

Lagavulin 1979 The Syndicate's 15 Year Old

The Syndicate seem to be a group of whisky lovers with good connections ( independent bottles of Lagavulin are rare), they also seem to have access to Bruichladdich's bottling hall.

Bottled by Cadenhead's, these Macallans were distilled in 1987 and bottled in February 2005 as a 17 Year Old.

Laphroaig 15 Year Old / Craggs

A Limited Edition, 270 bottle run drawn from a Laphroaig 15-year-old cask and presented to HRH the Prince of Wales to mark his 50th birthday. The Prince signed the cask during his visit to Laphroaig in June 1994 and donated it to Erskine Hospital 2000 Appeal of which he is Patron.

The Erskine Hospital 2000 Appeal opened in 1916 and has since cared for over 60,000 disabled ex-service men and women. The appeal aims to raise £5 million to enable the rebuilding of the hospital to meet 21st-century healthcare standards and establish Homes elsewhere in Scotland.

Three distinct labels were designed for the 270 bottles. Here we have an example of the \"Craggs\" label, of which only 105 were produced in total.

Aged for over 8 years in wood, we estimate this bottle to be from the 1940s.

Rare Ayrshire 1975 Signatory Vintage 36 Year Old

Rare Ayrshire is a rare release from this unusual single malt distillery.  

Produced at Girvan distillery, Ayrshire Ladyburn / Rare Ayrshire was only operational for 9 years between 1966 and 1975.  

This was distilled 24th October 1975 and then matured in a bourbon barrel until bottling 15th October 2012

Midleton Very Rare 2000 Edition 

This famous blend of whiskies was produced by Jameson's Master Distiller, Barry Crockett. Midleton Very Rare was released in very limited quantities on an annual basis since 1984, until 2012 when it was replaced by the equally desirable and acclaimed Midleton Barry Crockett Legacy.

The whiskey is aged somewhere between 12 and 25 years and matured solely in Bourbon casks.  Each bottle carries a signature from Barry Crocket.

The second release of this acclaimed expression of Lagavulin double matured. 

The 1979 first release has gained almost legendary status and the 1980 is close behind.

Macallan Rare Cask Black

A new Rare Cask created from the 'Dark, Mysterious Warehouses' of the The Macallan Distillery.

This is a one-off relatively small release of less than 100 casks, predominantly first fill sherry casks of European and American oak.

With a touch of smoke, the Rare Cask Black contains whisky from peat spirit produced at Macallan.

This new Macallan was released exclusive to Global Travel Retail.

Lochside 1966 Gordon and MacPhail​

Old vintages of Lochside are increasingly rarer and rarer, the distillery was founded in 1957 however single malt examples only date from the early 1960s.  The distillery also produced grain whiskies, allowing the malt and grain from this lost distillery to increase in demand and become highly sought after. This is a fantastic example of Lochside, distilled in the mid 1960s.

Bottled in 1992.
