You can place bids either under the lot image on the main auction page or on the right side of the individual lot page.
Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.
Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £55.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).

Our system increases bids based on preset increments, as shown in the table below, whether you set a maximum bid or make a single bid.

Balblair 10 Year Old Gordon and MacPhail 100 Proof Miniature 1970s
Balblair distillery in situated in the northern Highland region, currently under the ownership of Inver House Distillers and previously part of the Hiram Walker empire before it became Allied Distillers. Allied sold it to Inver House in 1996, who introduced the much-loved vintage-dated core range in 2007. Distillery bottlings were also produced in the 1980s but in the intervening years, independent releases like this were the most commonly available way to sample this lesser-known Highland single malt.
Hiram Walker licensed the Balblair single malt brand to Gordon & MacPhail in order to produce official releases in the 1970s and 1980s, not having the capacity to do so itself at the time. This good standing with the distillery furnished the Elgin-based independent firm with a steady supply of high-quality casks, and subsequently, high-quality releases.
This is one of those licensed bottlings. The early Gordon & MacPhail bottlings of Hiram Walker single malts, which also included Scapa and Pulteney, were recognisable by their uniform use of these black-bordered white labels with red text and black band through the centre. In the 1980s the label style shifted to focus on a specific branding for each distillery rather than their parent company. Although no longer the licensees, Gordon & MacPhail still produce bottles like that today, renamed in 2018 as their Distillery Labels range.
Balblair
A malt distillery in the Highland region of Scotland owned by the ThaiBev drinks group in south-east Asia through its Inver House Distillers division. Although historically associated with the Ballantine's blend, it has established itself in the 21st century as a key single malt brand.
Gordon & MacPhail
Perhaps one of Scotland's most important whisky companies, Gordon & MacPhail is a historic blender, independent bottler and distiller. It was founded in Elgin in 1895 and among its brands include Benromach single malt, and independent labels such as Connoisseurs Choice and its Distillery Labels.
