Roseisle is a large industrial-style distillery in Speyside, constructed by Diageo in order to produce a range of different spirit types in order to satisfy the needs of its various blended Scotch brands. When it was announced in 2007 it lead to fears within the industry that the drinks multinational was looking to replace the output of its smaller sites entirely, however this thankfully proved not to be the case. Construction was completed in 2009 and test production commenced in the same year before Diageo officially unveiled the distillery in 2010.

Roseisle has seven pairs of stills, six of which have interchangeable steel and copper condensers that allow it to produce both light and heavy spirit types. With the bulk of its output destined for blending, it is very rarely seen as a standalone malt.

The first official bottling of Roseisle single malt was released in 2023 as part of the annual Diageo Special Release collection for that year. A 12-year-old, it was aged in bourbon casks and titled The Origami Kite. A sequel release, this time from wine casks and called Origami Kite II was then included in the 2024 collection.

No permanent range from the distillery is currently produced.
