Mannochmore
Mannochmore is a malt distillery in Speyside that forms part of the extensive Scotch whisky holdings of Diageo. It was built by the Distillers Company in 1971 on the grounds of sister operation, Glenlossie, as a response to the increasing global demand for blended Scotch whisky at the time. Today its core function remains the provision of Diageo blends.
The distillery has not permanently available single malt represent outside of the 12-year-old Flora & Fauna bottling, however it was previously the source of the short-lived and often controversial Loch Dhu brand of "black" coloured whisky.
The first official single malt bottling of Mannochmore was the 12-year-old Flora & Fauna release, introduced by United Distillers in 1991. This remains the only permanently available official product from the distillery. United Distillers also released a limted edition under the Rare Malts Selection branding in 1997.
A dedicated Mannochmore branding was then introduced by Diageo in 2016 when it included the distillery in its Special Releases collection for that year. It is only seen sporadically however, with other instances including the 2018 version of The Manager's Dram and the 2019 Prima & Ultima collection.
