Inchdairnie
Inchdairnie is an innovative Scotch whisky distillery located near the Lowland town of Glenrothes in Fife. Owned by John Fergus & Co, construction began in 2014 and it produced its first spirit at the end of the following year. Producing both single malt and a variety of unusual single grain whiskies, the distillery is equipped with both pot stills and a plated Lomond still. Like only Teaninich before it, it also has a hammer mill which allows for the use of a wider variety of grains in it mash than other distillers.
The distillery's first release was a single grain whisky produced using malted rye and barley. Named Ryelaw, it was launched in 2023 and will be followed by Kinglassie (a peated single malt) in 2025, Prinlaws (one-off experimental single grains) in 2027, and its eponymous flagship single malt in 2029. It also produces single malts called Strathenry and Finglassie for bulk sale to blenders, however some independent bottlers began to release these in 2021.
