Glenturret is a Highland malt distillery located outside the Perthshire town of Crieff. It is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland and is today Swiss-owned through Glenturret Holding SA, a joint venture between the Lalique group and one of its shareholders, Hansjörg Wyss.

Originally established as Thurot in 1763. It was later renamed The Hosh before adopting Glenturret as its title in 1873. Having been shut down and dismantled in 1928, its modern history began in 1959 when the site was acquired by James Fairlie who built a new distillery within its walls. He also opened Scotland's second-ever distillery visitor centre there in 1980, which later housed The Famous Grouse Experience under ownership of the Edrington Group between 1999 and 2019.

Multiple ownership changes at Glenturret have seen a range of different iterations of its single malt brand since it was first introduced to market by James Fairlie in the 1970s. The earliest examples were 7-year-old single malts with stencil effect Glenturret lettering on the labels. These were promptly replaced by the squat bottle shapes used for the remainder of the 20th century by Rémy Cointreau and Highland Distillers. During this period, the core age statements were 8-, 12-, 15- and 18-year-olds, with Highland Distillers introducing a range of vintage releases in the 1990s.

The first significant rebrand took place in 2003 following the acquisition of Highland Distillers by Edrington. The stripped down core range was reduced to a single age statement with the long serving 12-year-old replaced by a 10-year-old expression. This remained the sold proprietary bottling until 2015 when three non-age statements called Peated Edition, Sherry Edition and Triple Wood Edition were launched.

The brand was relaunched again in 2020 following its acquisition by Lalique Group and Hansjörg Wyss, now targeted at the premium end of the market. A new bottle design was created by Marc Larminaux, Artistic and Creative Director at Lalique, and a new core range was launched. Comprised of annual releases, the range includes the non-age statement Triple Wood, a 12- and 15-year-old, and two peated expressions aged 7- and 10-years.
